Weekly sharing of Goals! Week #1 2024 (Monday 01/01/24 - Sunday 01/07/24)

User Profile: IsayUncle
IsayUncle January 1st

I welcome anyone to commit to a goal here today.

But more importantly, talk about getting it done or why it didn't happen today.

To praise each other for our efforts and wins.

While supporting each other through trials and setbacks.

And to continue trying and not give up.

Remember:
Every Goal should be considered "Worthy".
Never belittle your achievements and be proud of yourself for your daily accomplishments!
Whether they be Complex or Simple.
Getting out of bed is a good day..... Good job I say!

Share your goals today, for support and encouragement.

WOW!
Are we ready?

I have one question, for anyone interested.
(But it's a Biggy) 😀

 What personal thing or things would you like to get done or completed by 2025? This may include Materialistic, Physical, Finacial, Social and/or Emotional milestones.

 Blurt it out, Write it down here, Make it visible and committable. It doesn't have to be a resolution but it can be if you want it to be. It's more about a "druther" or what you would like to see different by years end. We all have 52 weeks to work in a direction and it would be kind of fun to come back here and look at this list at the end of the year.

🎉✨💥HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!💥🌟🕊️

@IsayUncle  I need to straighten out my head. I need to grieve and let go. Shake the depression and conquer the anxiety. Make peace with the inner devil's and demons

@mytwistedsoul

I know you can do these things. For the past year we have peppered comments back and forth (Which I've enjoyed) and I've always gotten the impression you are determined. And a kind person, that's important.

I believe we are in the same boat, in the same river, through the same stretch of land, together on these same matters. I'm going to write a separate post to share some of the same feelings.

I think if we work on these things, we could feel a lot better by the end of the year. Perhaps not fix everything but feel much better. That's my wish, hope and encouragement for you. You will do it!

@IsayUncle

This is a tough one for me because I really don't look that far out.....With that said, I'd love to go on more adventures, traveling, visiting places, etc.....I'm hoping to be able to do this by getting a good hold of my finances.  This will, of course, also be dependent on staffing at work....if I can get the time off....You are correct, Uncle, full time jobs do take a lot away from our lives.....One thing I would definitely like to do this year is look into getting back to therapy....I keep putting it off due to cost, and fear of not finding the right person, wasting my time so to speak.....I had a bad experience with a therapist once about 3 years ago and have been hesitant about going back ever since.....I guess I just need to suck it up and do it...but I know me, and I won't.....

In the mean time, I will continue to try to reach my smaller goals....the distance challenge in my cycling group, my other workout routines have small goals I'd like to hit, and maintain the day to day mundane tasks of life....

@CyclingThroughLife (Good to see you again.😃)

That's a great list of druthers. Not necessarily concrete goals but things you wanna work on throughout the year. That's great. Leaving doors open for betterment.

When others are entwined into these things, it makes it uncertain and I think a sense of discomfort with doubt and dread sets in. We must push past that because we must and we can!

1) Gain a little financial freedom any way you can (despite staffing) and take those extra trips this year, even if they have to be a little lesser than what you exactly want. You can do it.

2) Back in the day, therapists held a mystical or powerful aura about themselves. People listened and believed and tried to do what the therapist recommended. It kind of reminds me of airline stewardesses and how they were held in such high regard in the early years but it's not the same now, and it's not the same with therapists either.

I'm really sorry you had a powerful negative experience. It is a relationship and it's a very intimate relationship. To have that trust broken is very hard thing to rebuild. Maybe this year you can just stick your toe in to test the waters without having to dive all the way in. Maybe not commit to anything but call up some people and talk and see if you like the sound of their voice and what thier tone and direction is without really having to commit or pay anything. One try a month gives you twelve chances "Winner Winner chicken dinner"

I'm really glad you came back to check in and say hi.

@IsayUncle Happy New Year Uncle :)

Thought you might like that I bought some lumber today to build a 8x8 shed. A necessity you could say - lol - too much crap. So that'll give me something constructive to do and it will definitely come in handy 👍

YAY, Lets buid something! That will so awesome. Will it have a floor, or a shed on the ground with a bed of gravel? You will really appreciate the extra space. It'll be well worth your time and effort. If you have time keep us posted on your progress.😉

@IsayUncle It has a wooden floor. I want to use it to keep wood pellets in. I upgraded my heat source in November last year and put in a pellet stove. I used to just use a wood stove or a kerosene heater. But kero got hard to find and cost 3x's more. Plus cutting and hauling trees takes a lot of time. The pellet stove I can adjust the temps and fill the hopper and it lasts longer. It's a big enough shed for storing other stuff. I seem to accumulate a lot of stuff *crap lol* It'll really come in handy that's for sure 👍

Almost done. Just need the latch and handle 😀 And paint too of course

Well Now... look at you. 👀 lol. What a GREAT JOB! I'd have to say for the first week of 2024, you have hit it out of the ballpark. Congratulations. That should take a bit of stress off the season. Those pellet stoves are really nice. Stay warm🌞. Here comes the snow.😄

Today I'm gonna try to finish cleaning the kitchen and other housework but more urgently, visit several people and give gifts I got for them at Christmas time.

I can't believe how much a full time job takes away all your personal freedom. I know that might sound lame, but myself being in control of my own schedule for so many years, I have forgotten how to navigate an employee job with personal aspirations. I really don't like it 🤔!

I want to finish crocheting my beanie hat for a friend today

Good morning....I hope everyone had a great Christmas Holiday and a Happy New Year.  I first want to apologize for up and disappearing.  I got to a point where "peopling" was just too much for me, to include social media. I probably shouldn't say this, but even some of the posts I would read on this site (not this thread) became too much......more on that later if anyone cares to know.....I kinda took a break from all of it to include life.  I worked, did my workouts, and basically that is all.  I spent a lot of time on the couch with tv, movies and my girlfriend....she's the only one I really interacted with on any level, to include my kids...even they felt like too much at times....I did the obligatory Holiday things with my family, but would have been very happy to have done nothing....but it is what it is.  I feel like I'm now in a place where I can ease back into social media....so lets give this another try.....We are expecting 6 to 10 inches of snow this afternoon, evening and into tomorrow.....the weather(barometric pressure mostly) has been messing me up and I've been fighting my migraines the last couple days....yesterday was a super bad day for it.....but again, its part of my life, I've learned to deal with it and life goes on....Ok enough of that....moving on, I will try to be more active in this thread later today.....in the mean time, I everyone have a great Saturday and a better weekend......

@CyclingThroughLife I think it's cool you took a break to do life! Sometimes this place can be alittle too much. It can get overwhelming that's for sure. It's really good that you recognized that you needed a break from social media and quality time on the couch with your gf sounds like a good way to take a break. I pull back from here sometimes too because I get peopled out and declare no more peopling for a little 😅

Hey we're supposed to get snow today too lol! I don't think it's as much as what you're supposed to get though - not that I'm complaining lol
I hope your migraines ease off and give you a break for a long while

@CyclingThroughLife

It happens here. I was gonna give you a shout out a couple times but I figured you wanted some time to yourself. Sometimes we just have to do that but I'm glad to see you back.

That's awesome that you stayed up with your cycling challenge and workouts. I guess with the colder weather you do a lot indoors now. I bet you're glad you expanded your gym last year. 👍. You probably need it today, it's Sunday and I'll bet you're getting some snow.😒. Despite the snow I hope you have a great day.

Our first week in 2024 is coming to an end. I can honestly say that it has been surreal for me. I'm sorry I haven't had the time to post on this thread this week but in reality, I haven't had time to do anything. With driving time, I've been working 12 to 15 our days. i know a lot of people do that all the time and then deal with personal stuff but I'm not used to it. I haven't even taken the time to list my druthers for this new year.

So here goes.....

1) I want to make peace with my niece and my ex so that the three of us and others in the family can have a productive and meaningful 2024.

2) I hope to resolve my equipment and work issue with my partner and be done with our obligations together. And doing it in a manner that I don't get screwed out of the equipment and my investment.

3) I would like to get some B&B's and campsites built and functioning as an income.

4) I want to build an activity and craft center and a Trade Center for the youth in the community and also as an income venue.

5) I'd like to start two new threads this year. One of them being about goal setting or accomplishments through pictures. (like @mytwistedsoul shed pictures). The other one would be more personal, about how I developed an egocentrical personality, how it destroyed my social interactions, leading to many failures but I never understood because of the great amount of effort I've always put forth. I'd like to talk a lot about that this year.

So that's it about my druthers. My first week of 2024, I'd have to say was a success. It was out of my control but my financial gain was positive and my weight loss was also a positive thing. 😀

WHAT WILL WEEK #2 BE LIKE?

(Remember... try to support each other very much 🤗)

@IsayUncle Those are some long days. I hope you take time to rest and I know you were working hard to keep up with daily chores and projects you had going

That's a nice list you have. I hope things work out with your ex and your niece and you're all able to make peace and move forward

Equipment isn't cheap either. I hope you get that resolved with your business partner
Campsites and community stuff for the youth! That's so awesome! I hope you get to do that - I bet the kids will appreciate it too. If they have things to do it'll help keep them out of trouble 👍

Stay awesome Uncle! I hope you have a good week

@IsayUncle Honestly, I don't know anyone who'd work for so long every day... it's far from legal in my country. But I'm glad it's helping you currently, even though I wish it could be different.

@cloudySummer

Yea, that's interesting. We have limits like that too but I don't know actual legalities. I know there's two ways you can get paid overtime and that is daily or weekly. If we work over 8 hours we get time and 1/2 but not if it's less than 40 hours a week at the end of the week. Sometimes it has to be to pay daily and sometimes can accumulate 40 hours. It all depends on the job description.

With that said, I'll work for as many hours as I can to get that time and 1/2. That's 50% on top of my hourly wage and that is a good thing.😉

Happy 2024!! I hope everyone has a wonderful year ahead! :)

My goals for 2024. I plan to travel more. I plan to meet new people and make new friends. Buy a new car this year. Get good grades in all my college classes at a graduate student. I already workout a lot but I plan to add sometime to start weight lifting since I hear that weightlifting has a lot of health benefits, Try to eat healthier & drink less soda/coke. 🙂

Happy 2024 to you too.😃. I had not seen your post earlier. Notification glitches or I overlooked it. Anyway as they say, better late than never.😂.

It sounds like you have some great plans for 2024. Some are fun and uplifting, while the others can be difficult and take some discipline. It sounds like you got the grit to do it all.

Go get them. Work hard. Stay focused. You got this!

And drink less soda.... for sure.😉

@IsayUncle I'd like to celebrate facing down and succeeding in a huge matter yesterday. And accept the earned praise for doing so. But also take the time recover from it because I'm completely beat me down and totally consumed by the loss. I want to remember that I don't have to set myself on fire to keep others warm, and that my cup will fill again.

And yeah, after a big struggle like that and facing down a huge matter, we need to recuperate. TBH, I can't even think straight after something like that.

I am so happy for you, to hear you got that done.
