Let's Set Our Goals For This Summer !

IreneDreamer May 30th, 2016

Whenever I have a dream, idea or goal I always tend to write it down and most of the times looking back is overwhelming because I cant believe how far Ive come. I cant believe that all these things I wished for, have actually happened. Writing down your aspirations isnt just a way to tell the universe ‘I am ready to receive this gift and I will be positive and hopeful that I will end up receiving it but it is also a way to appreciate every victory even more because many times when we actually receive something we tend to forget how badly we wanted it before we had it.

This is a place to share every dream or goal you would like to accomplish until the end of summer. It can be as simple as drinking more water and more complex as asking for a psychologists help for a problem you are facing.

But this is also a place to find support. It is so much better to have someone to stand along us through all the tough days that we want to quit. I promise you that I will support every single one of you that will write on this thread and check up on you to see how things are going. If you couldnt get out of bed today or couldnt get yourself to stay on plan then feel free to share it so that me and hopefully more listeners and members will offer you a helping hand and listen to you.

But ultimately this is a place of victory since every single accomplishment will be posted. So if you made some time to go for a walk today or finished that book you were reading it would be so great to share it here and celebrate with this family the manifestation of that goal. Of course you can also add new plans here. Also feel free to PM members that you have a common aims with or someone you see having a hard time or maybe congratulating someone on a victory.

There are 3 things you need to remember.

1. Your goals have to be positive. They have to lead you to a better path that the one you are on now.

2.There is no such thing as bigger and smaller goals or accomplishments. We are all equal and what seems a piece of cake to someone may be the tallest mountain to climb for another. You cant measure dreams because in the end what matters is how hard you try to make them come true.

3. Every ‘failure is a lesson. It tries to show you what you did wrong or lead you to a new and better path. Dont let negativity cloud up your mind. Be open and accepting to your mistakes.

So without further ado here are my goals for this summer :

1. Take French lessons

2. Exercise more

3. Go to (at least) two concerts

4. Go out more

5. Keep in regular touch with online friends

6. Read fifty (at least) books

7. Improve my drawing skills

8. Be more active on 7 cups

9. Earn the Baron of Big Hears Badge

Lets make this summer the time that dreams became plans and we all came closer to the best version of ourselves!!!

@mimameid these are amazing! what book are on your list to read? and where do u have in mind to volunteer to?

mimameid June 9th, 2016

@IreneDreamer I have a plan to read through all the Mortal Instruments books. Even though I'm not much into urban fantasy, I decided to give those books a try since I recently watched some of the show based on them. xD Also, planning to read more historical fiction novels. I like reading ones based in Early America. =]

I used to volunteer for the local zoo here before I went to university. I want to get back into it again, as well as explore volunteer opportunities at a Nature Center and with the local Botanical Gardens. Since I unfortunately wasn't able to get an internship in my field of study, I figured volunteering is the next best thing to it. ^^

@mimameid you are right about the volunteering part! it's so amazing that you take a stand and actively make this world a better place yes I think you'll like The Mortal Instruments (btw I also watched the series and the film omg Dom Sherwood was hooooot) because the 3rd book is actually not taking place at the city...no spoilers tho. I also enjoy historical fiction and I bought Wolf Hall it'd about British history tho but it is very good!

How many of these I'll actually get done? Probably very little, but here are the things I should be reaching for when I can actually be awake during the day and get out of bed.

1. Check in with myself emotionally more often
2. Actually do my physiotherapy exercises at some sort of regular frequency and try to walk more
3. Get out of the house more often - find some activities that get me out more often and perhaps be more social
4. Discover and do more things for the sake of finding them enjoyable, fun, or relaxing. See if I can get access to yoga classes that teach in a secular way. See if swim suit fits, ear plugs and so on so I can venture to find a place to swim
5. Try journaling again (or maybe an anonymous blog) to get all the thoughts in my mind out of me. Try meditating again to get a break from inner turmoil
6. Schedule an occasional something to look forward to, like a massage
7. Keep up with regular schedule of chores
8. Continue trying to come up with a meal plan or research meals on wheels so that I can eat meals that are healthier than fast food
9. Purchase remaining necessary items to actually begin practicing doll customizing hobby, practice skills with items I do have and can do for now
10. Call to book appointments for eyesight, physical, appointment with new counselor and schedule these dates in planner and on dry erase calendar
11. Buy a book shelf and something with drawers or Rubbermaid bins to organize craft materials, files, and declutter room
12. Bathe more often and attempt to try on some old clothes to see what might still fit and what needs to be donated/ trashed - once again, to declutter room
13. Find a suitable router to get WiFi set up so I can use apps for fun and to communicate with people more affordably

I'm hoping to get a decent amount of these goals completed by the end of the summer!

1. Get a summer job and stay dedicated to it; make sure it's something that I love to do and take pride in so as to get the full experience.

2. Volunteer when I'm not working at the horse ranch so I can continue to feel a sense of accomplishment and help myself through being near animals and kind kids. I also love to help other people, so it's just overall the most amazing place to be!

3. Read some good books! Right now I'm so busy with school I haven't gotten around to it, but I have Ready Player One and a few others that I wanna tackle soon. laugh

4. Become more active and involved on 7Cups. I'm already doing my best to make progress on here and overall the community has been so supportive.

5. Continue to lead a few competitive gaming teams and work our way up through the ranks. c:

6. Remind myself to eat more often; without the reminder of eat breakfast before school and have lunch during this period, I think I'm going to be missing a lot of meals. I'll need to set reminders for myself and listen to my body more often if I want to stay healthy.

7. Get my summer work done ahead of time!

8. Do a lot of cleaning and hopefully host a garage sale with my famly.

I may add onto this later, but right now this is it. c: Thank you for the wonderful thread!
