Beginner's Mind- Seeing things fresh with Mindfulness

A beginner's mind gives us a fresh way of seeing things, releasing any judgement we may have while unlocking our ability to things in our present state of life. When we are new to something we tend to open our mind to learning, develop an understanding and adopt a mindset.

There are 4 state of minds:

free of preconceptions: how something actually works

free of expectations: what will happen

filled with curiosity: how we understand something ,ore completely

open to a world of possibilities gaining what is or isn't possible.

Reducing stress with Mindfulness:

Practicing mindfulness help us to reduce anxiety and depression. Mindfulness is defined as being fully present and aware of what we are sensing and feeling in that moment. It helps us from the constant thinking, what happened last week, why did I do that yesterday, what needs to be done tomorrow or in the future.

Practicing mindfulness exercises helps us

reduce stress, depression and anxiety

have less negative thinking and distractions

Improve our mood

a tool in coping with pain management

What are some ways you practice mindfulness or meditation to reduce stress?

How do you look at something fresh ( in the now) fully and break it down so it does not make you stressful ?

Journaling helps me relax my mind. It helps me focus and be in the present moment.

Diaphragmatic breathing also helps me relax my muscles.

Completing a task can be stressful. So I like to break it down into smaller steps. I try to do only those things that I am able to do for one day. And then complete the rest the next day. Giving yourself some rest is very important. It is very important to know that nobody can complete big to dos, thus it is important to break it down. What you need to remind yourself is that "at least I completed this much" than not even completing anything because of the bigness of the task.

I start my day with self-affirmations and a brief yoga practise to get into a good mindset for the day. During the day I meditate and use awareness techniques like STOP
