Cultivating Resilience

One way to cultivate resilience is to practice optimism. You can train yourself with practice in positive self-thinking to see opportunity instead of a dead-end, to view a glass as half full instead of half empty. There’s also truth in self-fulfilling attitudes. If you believe you’ll be successful in overcoming adversity, you’re more likely to succeed. The opposite is also true: If you think you’ll fail, you probably will.
I’m not saying this is something new, it’s also not about ignoring the negative things, neither is it easy to do but we all can try to do our best to learn thinking in more helpful ways. Some researchers think that pessimism may stress you out, too, boosting levels of destructive stress hormones in your bloodstream.
Some things to encourage positive thinking are:
Identify your areas of negativity
Practise of positive self-talk
Surround yourself (irl and/or online) with positive people
Have a healthy lifestyle

I love the quote! Staying positive can be really hard, but I think being able to approach things with the idea of being kind to myself is helpful. I think identifying what I'm being negative about is helpful. I think being able to vent about my worries and struggles is important to me being able to be positive. I think it is important to make that distinction. Because talking about the negative is what enables me to figure out the positive. Thanks for the post 😊
@amiablePeace77 whatever happens to you doesn't have to make up who you are. ultimately, that decision is all up to you <3 how you decide to deal with it and the choices you make to cope with it will be the biggest contributors to your mental development during the aftermath of it all. it is easier said than done sometimes, but it is true ! :0 it doesn't have to destroy you <3

I don't always think positive but that's I have a great support team for!:) And something thing that can help with Cultivating resilience is by looking in the mirror and every night before you go to bed and give yourself a pep talk on what you can work on and how amazing you(I) did today!:)

I personally believe that it is impossible and not ideal to think positively all the time because if we are always optimistic then we will not be realistic and cover up normal human emotions like pain, fear, worry etc. Excessive positive thinking can be toxic. However, I do encourage positive thinking because it has a beneficial impact on psychological and physical well-being and help create real value in your life
I think the ways to cultivate resilience is to constantly remind yourself what your visions or dreams are and taking small steps to achieve short term goals that will lead you to the right direction of your visions or dreams. Another way is to feed yourself with positive contents, like positive news, youtube videos, podcast or radio, music and movies. I also think putting pictures and quotes on your bedroom wall could help cultivate resilience
Hello everyone,
I have found that being more self aware and other aware can help with resilience. It helps to understand that I am in fact only responsible for and in control of my own thoughts, feelings, behaviors, actions, etc. I cannot control anyone else. It helps to realize that other people's behaviors and actions may and most likely don't have nothing to do with me.
I think being optimistic isn't about not seeing or accepting that there are negatives in life. I believe that thinking positively is a way of not focusing on the negative. Know that there are hard things, bad, things, negative things in life, but choose to find a positive. It is how we choose to cope with those things that creates a positive or negative thought process.
I imagine this can seem quite impossible for someone struggling with an extreme negative in life. We cannot overlook the negative. I am learning it must be embraced, felt if necessary, and let go in some way or another.
