mindfulness has had a profound impact on my life & this is why I am a huge advocate for it. living life with a mindful perspective has fundamentally transformed my inner self, which has led to external change as well. some examples of this in my life include living in the present moment and savoring joyful moments, both of which have helped uplift me & led to my external reflecting this internal shift. has anyone else experience this internal/external shift as well?

@Kait I can relate to what you’re saying. I’ve found that practicing mindfulness also allowed me to have a shift in mindset, leading to a better appreciation of the present moment and seeing a larger perspective in life.

I’ve also found my overall wellbeing improved as well since practicing this. To answer your prompt, I too have experienced both an internal and external shift while practicing mindfulness.

Thank you for sharing this and giving me an opportunity to ponder on this more. I always look forward to your posts and please keep up the great work. 💓

@Kait

Do you mind sharing more about how mindfulness has helped you? I haven't noticed this much myself but I've only started trying to be more mindful in the past few months or so. It's hard when there's a lot going on at once. I do find myself admiring/noticing plants in a deeper way then I used to

@friendlyFish8120

Hi friendlyFish! First off, thank you so much for your thoughtful comments & question! This is a great question, how has mindfulness helped me?
Well, to be honest, it would take many long paragraphs to describe all of the ways mindfulness has helped me, so I will be as concise as possible.
The first thing that comes to mind is that mindfulness has helped me to develop awareness around my thoughts, responses/reactions, and feelings/emotions. I think this is so powerful because in my opinion, the first step to regulating these & growing as an individual, is to first recognize them. I've been able to recognize maladaptive (unhelpful/harmful) coping mechanisms and patterns, and thus take the steps to developing more healthy habits & patterns.
The second way that mindfulness has helped me is in savoring pleasant moments. This speaks to you sharing that you've noticed yourself admiring plants more as you're exercising your mindfulness muscle :) The importance in savoring pleasant moments (and, in conjunction, experiencing regular gratitude) is that our brains are hard-wired to notice the negative/look for danger. This is a biological evolution of our brain dating back to the stone ages! To balance this natural function of our brains (which is trying to protect us, but may have painful side-effects that cause suffering), I believe there is so much power in reveling in joy, happiness, and contentment when we experience these moments. Mindfulness helps us to burrow into these pleasantries & enjoy the comfort they bring on a deeper level.
While there are many more answers to your question, I will leave it to those two for now. I am always happy to chat more in depth about mindfulness in 1-on-1 PMs, so feel free to leave me a message. Finally, I'd like to touch on one more point in your comment- Mindfulness is
 hard when there's a lot going on at once. Yes, this is so, so, true. And, I'd argue that these are the times in which mindfulness is the most revolutionary. That being said, much like gratitude, I find that by building a small practice day by day when I am in a better space to do so, makes it so much easier to naturally use these tools when we are experiencing distress & emotional difficulty in our lives.
I hope this answers your question! Mindfulness & gratitude don't always necessarily have instant gratification say the way a big slice of chocolate cake or indulging in a shopping cart might (though, sometimes I do get instant gratification from practicing mindfulness), so, with that in mind, I would encourage you to keep practicing mindfulness in little ways, and see how your relation to mindfulness & your "mindful muscle" grow over time :)

@Kait What a beautiful reflection on mindfulness and how it has shaped your life. I completely agree, mindfulness has the power to create that profound internal shift, which then ripples outward into the way we experience and interact with the world. Living in the present and savoring the little joys can truly transform your perspective and the way life unfolds around you.

I’ve had a similar experience myself. Practicing mindfulness not only helped me calm my inner chaos but also led to clearer thinking, better decisions, and a sense of balance that showed up in my relationships and daily life.

If mindfulness is something you're diving into and you’re open to exploring more tools for inner transformation, I’d love to recommend an e-book I’ve written called The Silence. It’s a guide on overcoming fear, managing anxiety, and building a mindset that supports growth and resilience. It touches on topics like mindfulness and living with intention, which I think you’d find valuable. You can check it out here: The Silence.

Thank you for sharing your journey. It’s so inspiring to hear about how mindfulness has transformed your life. Would love to hear if anyone else has experienced a similar shift! 🌟
