I remember the first time I watched the Marvel Cinematic Universe What If...T'Challa Became a Star-Lord episode. I replayed that part over and over since you're right - it is spot on.
Not sure how much you follow the MCU, but it was even more poignant since before him, the Ravagers were known for plundering riches to use for their own ends, and after he joined up with them, he helped reform them and give those treasures back to the needy.
