Hi there to all LGBTQ+/MOGII community folks!

I am hosting a fun discussion on Tuesday, March 28 (28/03/23) at 14:00 ET called "Life as an LGBTQ+ Person"

Please feel free to drop by and meet some of the other 7 Cups LGBTQ+/MOGII community members while we meaningfully discuss and raise essential questions about being LGBTQ+/MOGII.

This is my debut event as an LGBTQ+/MOGII Room Supporter, and I hope you will all help me celebrate my joining the LGBTQ+/MOGII sub-community team(tagged below).

@KateDoskocilova @EmotionsListener @AcatalepticShadow @FallingSkys @MelodyoftheOcean @BlitheSun94 @Jefferythebunny319

I am looking forward to this debut discussion and am so grateful to be a part of such a fantastic 7 Cups team!

Hope to see you there!

Welcome to the team! I mean it's not my job so it's an informal welcome! I'm super happy you are here and I look forward to working with you and seeing you in the rooms <3

Tuesday evenings are a bit hard for me but I will try as hard as I can to be there. If not, good luck on the session! You got this! I know you will be amazing <3

Oops I think it might be an adult session so I won't be able attend, but everything else still stands!

you don't really need to have a whole discussion to answer that question..

what does it mean to be LGBTQ ? it simply means being a normal human being just like everybody else, we're not unicorns, nor monsters..

Jonathan Decker from Cinema Therapy said it best "Make room for us at the table. Let us live in peace, cause we're doing literally nothing to the heteronormative people."

Your insight reminded me of a simple yet profound need most humans have: to feel part of a group or connected to those who share an experience. And I agree with you that we are not so different or mythical creatures in the sense that our lives are so different that we come across as fictional.

However, in places like where I live, being queer or any non-heteronormative person, for that matter, can be very lonely and sometimes even scary.

Discussions like the one I mentioned have a purpose for those who feel alone and want to form connections with those who are like them, who accept them, and who are not judgmental of any individual's unique path.

And totally ok if that's not for you, and I appreciate your comment and insights regardless.

If it's just this topic that doesn’t interest you, no worries; we have lots of other types of events in the community calendar found here: https://www.7cups.com/home/communityCalendar.php

Again, thank you for your comment, and for that very profound quote. Glad to have you here! ☺️

my apologies if I came off as dismissive, it wasn't my intention. The thing about LGBTQ people, is we're not a homogenous group. We come from different walks of life, are at different stages of your lives, and have different values and priorities, the only thing we share in common is the fact we're LGBTQ, which means different things for different people, for some it's obvious, for others it's still a question. However, at the end of the day, we're all still people, not mythical creatures, we love, hate, do groceries, pay taxes, get stuck in traffic and be late for work.. it's just as mundane and ordinary as everyone else.
