Welcome back, crew! We've discussed leading yourself and others. Let's talk about leading ÃÂ within the community!
A car is a ÃÂ system that has different levels of components. Each component is a system in itself like engine, accelerator, gears, clutch, tires, seats, front deck, mirrors, and so on. Each of these components is also a system too. But when they are integrated into one big system, it comprises the bigger picture as a car which facilitates movement from one place to another. ÃÂ
Similarly, 7Cups is a system. A system of small systems that have their own defined set of goals but contributing towards a bigger goal (community goal).
When you are a lead of a project, you are not just leading your own project but also within the community as well. Examples: Verified Listener Program, Active Listening Tests, Listener Coaching, Quality Mentor, Listener Support Chat Rooms, and so on are individual projects that contribute to supporting a user to become a better listener to support the member they listen to and the community at large. Everyone is functioning as an integral part of the system. ÃÂ
To ensure the smooth operation of your system and the whole system, you need to collaborate with other community and project leaders to problem solve and be well synced. ÃÂ
Everything is interlinked and interconnected. You are part of the community and leading within the community. And, when everyone collectively gathers together to achieve one purpose, we are cultivating a sense of community solidarity.
Exercise:
1. ÃÂ Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community. ÃÂ
2. Please reply to 3 of your peers in the thread!
After fulfilling the requirements of this post, please proceed to the end of Course 4!ÃÂ
This post is brought to you by the Leadership Development Program Team, find out more information about the program here.

Ex: As the proverb goes “Little drops of water make the mighty ocean”. This is what I believe my part in this community. Even a small change if I could bring in for the betterment of others, that itself is a great feeling.
As an individual, I try learning many things from my members and impart the same knowledge to other members, and by going through this process, it’s always gaining knowledge and sharing the same. Win- Win situation as much as possible. As I haven’t been much on a team, just been there for the safety patrol team and always happy to be around good ppl.
By doing such good deeds, it automatically gives a healthy atmosphere in the whole community.
@LoveTracker that is a great answer!
@LoveTracker
You have an excellent point in that it doesn’t matter how many or how much roles and activities you do as long as the actions you do give are from the heart cause that’s what people see and makes them want to come back here and make it even bigger.
@Heather225
I make daily plans for supporting members and listeners . I have recently enrolled in chat room supporter role and SPOT grading as well.

I'm a community centered moderator. I think I'm contributing as an individual by improving my listening skills to better help my members, which then helps the community in general.
As a team, I'm a host for the appreciation check-in team. I think my role gives a decent contribution : )
@Here4good74
that really does give you a well rounded way to contribute here and congratulations on taking on these tasks which takes a lot of dedication.
@Here4good74 Thank for your time and service as a community mod keeping that end safe and supported :D I'm also an appreciation check in hosts, its a lovely initiative to spread positivity sessions amongst the community
@Here4good74
I'm very happy to be on the same team as you.

I am a part of this community in 7Cups are first and foremost a listener who puts myself available to hear our and emotionally support people who are seeking to talk about what’s going on. I am a part of the the community as a team to help people who use our service feel supported and cared for for the times they need someone like this in their life. I’m also part of the community as a team in terms of supporting other listeners are a peer support and hosting discussions to talk about important skills to use as well as being an adult teen listener.
I contribute to this community by giving help to membrete of adult and teen age and to fellow listeners whether on 1-1 chats or checking in at group support chats.
@Mari228 Thank you so much for choosing to be a Listener and to offer genuine support to our Members! 🌷🌷🌷

@SirenOfSerenity
And you are an amazing one too, absolutely you are my inspiration for doing this course, and I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you :)
@Heather225
First of all, I'm proud to be a member of this community. I'm an active listener, taking on 1-1 chats whenever I'm required to. As a moderator of the LGBTQ+ room, I hold discussions and partake in activities that encourage a supportive environment for our members. As a member of the PAT, I take on as many tasks as I can to bring smiles.
I'm really happy to do all this and will work towards a higher goal when I'm ready!
@KimByeongIn I appreciate you being a mod for LGBTQ+ support room. It was great hosting with you. I have also seen the dedication with which you post peer appreciation, and it is very creative. I am looking forward in hosting more sessions with you!
@Heather225 Give an example of how you are part of this community and how are you contributing as an individual, as a team, and within the community.
I am a project agent with the academy and listener content team. A peer supporter, a room supporter, a listener room supporter, on my trial for an academy mentor and host listener check-ins.
As a peer supporter, I help my peers after a hard chat. Being there for a fellow listener is as important as a fellow member. We are here to give emotional support to everyone and that is one of the reasons I choose to be a part of it. I had one listener asking for peer support from my side and they felt lighter talking to me. That is when I realized I made a difference in their listening journey
As a room supporter, I make sure everyone is welcomed in rooms and also be a listener for them in member support rooms. Listening in group chats also counts where we can make a difference. I often see people not being very welcoming in group chats and I ensure to do that when someone enters and make them feel inclusive
As a listener room supporter, I help my fellow listeners by sharing links which might be helpful for their journey and help them give better assistance to their members. I have sent quite a few links in listener rooms which proved to be helpful for my peers.
As an academy mentor, I see a lot of people struggling to graduate or decide what to do. I want to be able to help them out, as I have already been in their shoes and understand how it must be feeling. I want them to graduate well before time.
As a PA for the academy and listener content room, I have shown dedication in hosting orientations in the academy hub room. I have written some scripts for the listener discussion team. I had attended a session where the script was written by me and people were enjoying the session, saying how much they liked the questions or how helpful they were. They said that it would make a difference in their profession as well as here at cups and that made me really happy. That was when I had found my purpose of writing scripts for that team
As a listener check-in host, I try to engage activity in teen listener rooms and also ask them about their listening journey and help them in any way I can.
Being a discussion writer, listener check-in host needs me to be a part of a team and work together to ensure more participation. Writing discussion scripts is something I really enjoyed as they were quite helpful for other listeners. As a part of the team, I help contribute to the listening community and make sure it is helpful for everyone and find it useful
@yourbuddy30 wow, that's my buddy, lots of roles <3 so proud of you! <3
