Chapter 7 Questions

Community leadership in 7 Cups focuses on moving away from hierarchical leadership, but rather having numerous people who work together in the community. If there is only one leader on a project, then if they leave or something happens to them, the whole structure collapses. So, it's better to help one another instead of manage each other.

I learned that community is not about control and forcing or pushing your will onto others, but about working together to develop leaders. People who are willing and passionate will dedicate more to the community and be there for the long haul. Leaders are genuine and qualified for the work and eager to learn.

Chapter 8 Questions

One way 7 Cups supercharges their leaders is by offering internship and leadership programs where they can pursue additional coursework.

I learned that there are numerous ways to support leaders; one thing that is important to supporting their journey is building the process of how leaders are initially onboarded and deciding these leaders' key activities. The most valuable activities will be those that prioritize and address the needs of the community, working systematically to improve.
