Nightmares are killing me. Every night I'm facing the same issue and if it is not nightmare then it's stressful dreams like work dreams .. etc . It's awful that you know every night what is waiting for you and every night is defferent dream but all horrible. It's 11:00 pm here and I'm going to sleep now hoping that I would have a peaceful night.

I don't know if this will help you but I have PTSD and had nightmares every night for years....

I tried different medications and nothing helped. Until I finally decided to try guided meditation at night when I am going to sleep. I did it every night for a long time and it helped. I have a white noise machine on every night and listen to the meditation CD's most nights.

My nightmares have virtually gone away. Maybe it could help?

Hi Polite,,, I also have nightmare however, not as bad as you or asgoodasitgets. I also try meds and dont work. currently haven sleep in days or should say good sleep.. I have to try the white noise thing too. But Also what i do is to try to ease down to sleep try to relax before going to sleep. You could said wind down. Dont engage anything that will keep your mind alert. I dont even watch tv 1 hour before sleep, no reading just relaxation.

Thanks armyguy that is also a good thing to try. I will also try to start doing that maybe start with half an hour of relaxing. Thanks again

Hi Polite. Try thinking of good thoughts before bedtime. Sometimes what we have done for the day gets extended to our sleep. try to change your sleeping position as well and relax and try not to think about work. Your home and your own bed is your safe haven s don't feel franctic about tomorrow.

politeCup86 OP March 11th, 2015

Appreciate your suggestions Taurus. I will try my best. I usually don't have time to think. I'm type of person who sleep directly after laying on bed. So also it would be good to try and I hope it will minimise the nightmares

I suffer from night terrors/nightmares and it has been linked to the pain I experience through my arthritis. However, to try and help reduce the nightmares I try different ways to overcome this and it has helped me.

I go for a bath and use some lavendar oils which help relax me, after 9/10pm I don't use my laptop or tablet and I don't watch anything on TV which may trigger the nightmare. Sometimes listening to a song I like can help me get to a good place and this can reduce the amount of nightmares I have in a night.

Might be worthwhile trying. I hope you find something that works. Take care.

Hi fighter. Thank you for your kind suggestions and I will try to do it. I'm thinking now that maybe bcuz I'm having a chronic pain in my neck and left shoulder and arm which is extremely painful and maybe that is what causing me the nightmares. Anyway I will try and I hope that it will work.

I really want to discuss this but I donnow if this is acceptable here to be discussed at this site or not. And I really think that this is an issue and I really appreciate if we can know points of view of other ppl here. How do u feel about Masterbating? Do u think it is okey? Do u feel guilty about it? Do u think its healthy? Does it affect sexual relationships? How about in religious point of view? Do u think it can be addicted? Do u think its acceptable for married ppl to do it? I'm really trying to reach to peaceful thought about it and stop feeling guilty. Appreciate if ppl can share their opinions and if this got deleted by mods . I understand that.

My opinion is ...... It's your body and you know what makes it feel bad and what makes it feel good, if touching yourself makes you feel nice/pleasure then go for it, it's YOUR body after all.
