Easter days 2k24+

___

Uggh you try to escape here and something drags you back here. The need or impulse to alleviate something sore. Put your pride aside but you find no content in producing content in how you find yourself yet again in this spot to reside.

This is why it's important to learn to not to take it all so seriously, preferably not via indifference or an ignorant sort of humour. Humour that understated key to wisdom, difficult to entertain whereas too many think vice-versa a course to take.

__

I don't like how Psychforum's journal section is moderated and I'm fairly surprised by how neither Wrongplanet nor Reddit (as far as I know) have sections for journalling. Ditching this place would be easier if the prospect of immediate contact with listeners wasn't justified by my experiences.

This was a meaningful 'X-men adjacent' trade paperback read for me back whence https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Cable_Vol_1_97

Callisto is a meaningful if often 'under the radar' character who I ought to follow when it comes to how X-men stuff develops.

___

I think that stuff like this [journal writing] is important b/c...

since there's no place left to run, when going elsewhere if it doesn't mean moving elsewhere for aggravatingly banal reasons*1 or for glib escapism whether of a 'venturing towards stimulating or meaningful attractions and sites' sort of way or 'trying to destimulate and relax' for however long as an often all too brief work vacation day use policy permits

..we're all kind of trapped yet are usually in d--n well in the position to express or at least put sincere efforts to doing that and when we see each other's pain, I'd personally want to to be more meaningful than us laughing since too often in those tired, worn out states we aren't self-aware enough or critically lack the energy to try a different modality of humour and about as apt to ridicule one another*2

Then again, this emphasis on 'the wisdom of where you are' might well be the sort of shlock to expect by a weirdo who can't drive at near 33..though do understand I've anti-fondness for ideological conservatism. Far be it from me in my line of work as a 'local history and archives library page'.

-- I get where Mark Twain's ~"Travel is the best cure for ignorance" is coming from in terms of being reasonably beneficial though do understand again (a) I can't drive and (b) what does feasible and meaningful travelling esp. outside of familial based impulses or obligations even mean nowadays ?. D--n the feasibility of comfy but experientially enriching travelling ain't what it used to be*3 in contrast to Clemens days.. *3 https://youtu.be/Ft1PHRvWRNs?si=ccvEPk0g97oquOOY&t=17

*1 apparently less living expenses, 'more jobs' in yet another famous place which too often behaves as if it's too good to hire you...late capitalism is going to kick and curb stomp your a-- the next time you open the door at the new place you go

*2 consider what I said in my initial entry about humour being a path to wisdom instead of choosing the opposite and conventional version of that how humour's used

Uncanny X-men v. 1 #328 : the fight Betsy Braddock had with Sabretooth was so nigh-fatal that she was taken to Dr.Strange for healing resulting in an aftereffect of a red thunderbolt like marking over one of her eyes for several years..I'm curious to see that interaction btw Stephen and the mainline X crew during those pre-movie/multimedia adaptation synergy days.

The listing of tools entered around woodworking listed throughout the bottom of here

give me an itch to see them as AI art outputs.

The 'toasted fibre' food so precious and which I'm currently low on plus maybe this one special kind of deodorant are Costco prospects on my mind.

Watching this https://youtu.be/uLh2TAOtcPE?si=ZQtqi6dxzlQfysr-

and I think to myself how its ‘classist determinism’ that more prevalently winds up operating our lives, severs what meager ‘feeling’ of free will we might’ve ever had and at worst makes us fatalistic and maybe even paradoxically entitled enough to have belief in the shlock of biological determinism and it’s worst elements.

I feel ambivalent right now a d too restrained to take it out via iPhone typing..I’m leaning for a mental health based appointment sooner than later despite how frustrated I am by the lack of feedback for things before the ~18th inches upon us.

One major reason for an aversion to caffeinated products like tea and coffee is not only due to not yearning to be 'hooked' on caffeine but b/c despite how flavourful it can be, it makes my teeth unsightly with staining and =_= to my chagrin it also applies to soy based products as well.

Not up to doing a 'one to one translation' esp. since what was posted before was something of an edit of text msg thoughts I'd shared w/a sibling anyhow.

I’m realizing how *very* busy one can be kept w/class work alone , even before g.11 when you’re working your way for through as many mandatories as you can for a ~’16 credits before 16’ .. =_= ‘~’ in hindsight it’s fairly off-putting (esp.during the winter bound first semester) to do after school stuff b/c of limited sunlight (not that waking early even in warmer months is much more appealing a commitment)…to say nothing about how much expectation and commitment a fair amount of school sport teams pressure a/o entail for (ex.gridiron football in a lot of places) and .. `_` ‘_’ or *much more significantly*..whenever you start feeling keen on having a part time job [ -_- b/c expectant future tuition fees] and using after or before school time like for that (usually ~16/entering g.11 since that’s when social insurance numbers become available from what I remember ?).

Have you any suggestions for websites it'd be good to journal about mental health stuff onto ?.

Here are some websites where you can journal or engage with mental health-related content:

  1. Penzu
A secure and private online journaling platform. It offers a free version for basic journaling and premium options for customization. Penzu can serve as a private space to write about your mental health.

  2. 750 Words
This site encourages users to write 750 words (about three pages) daily. It's private and focused on stream-of-consciousness writing, which can be great for mental health reflection. There’s a minimalist design to avoid distractions.

  3. Daylio
Daylio is an app-based journaling platform where you log your moods and activities each day without needing to write full journal entries. It provides data insights and charts about mood patterns over time.

  4. Gratitude Journal
Websites like Gratefulness.org and apps such as Gratitude focus on building a daily gratitude practice, which can be useful for positive mental health reflections.

  5. MoodPanda
A mood-tracking journal that connects users to a supportive community. You log daily moods and receive feedback from others, which can add a social layer to mental health journaling.

  6. Mindlogr
An audio and video-based journaling tool, where you can create private or public video logs of your thoughts. It’s particularly good for people who prefer speaking over writing.

  7. Journey
A digital journal app with mood tracking and goal setting, Journey offers a clean interface and cross-platform synchronization. It's designed to help with mental health, goal tracking, and daily reflections.

Would you prefer something more private, or a platform that offers community support alongside journaling?

Daniel Thrasher, Julie Nolke, Cody Franklin 'AlternateHistoryHub', Ryan George (sometimes) are the sort YouTubers who're amusing at weaving in their sponsor mention into their shtick and Benjamin Cook of Tales Foundry isn't one I'd count for it but what video I saw a few days past made an a mention of '80,000 hours' w/their apparent takes on which careers ~'stand to make the most impact on the world' being wording which got my attention (https://youtu.be/yfRpjwi5fFU?si=b4F6eHleLirFdxie&t=935 ~15:24~18:44 ..https://jobs.80000hours.org/ )..I appreciate the sounds of that as I do the astounding detail of the O*Net Online site (ex. https://www.onetonline.org/link/summary/49-9094.00)

Past ~48 hours have been enriching.

Since I won't be too surprised that something stupid, like an error msg is going to pop up for including pictures I'm putting in an asterisk for where a picture was meant

Compare

to the aesthetic in this

https://www.youtube.com/clip/UgkxqP8aZee-5wocycwdwBaQETZLtz-xOfCC

The characters don't have the same vibe (not too human hodgepodged secret paramilitary team in contrast to undercover mostly mutants trying to contribute to a rebellion) but even though I'd say DC's 'Creature Commandos' is most likely taking it's aesthetic from the past 'Mortal Kombat legends' movies (sans 'Cage match'), the bright and solid colours, the thick but variably angular and jagged lines (reminiscent of a 'rough inkiness' which American comics have had since at least sometime during the 80's) actually aren't too far off from that 'apparently cringe' period after the when the 'Image comics' founders (Marc Silvestri, Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, Todd MacFarlane etc) left Marvel to strike it on their own but before that 'trying to be cinematic' feel which has frequented since the mid 00's.

I went on about more here.. https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbooks/comments/1g3nadx/the_look_of_mid_90s_to_mid_00s_american_comics/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

but what I'd mean to say is how I liked that period since for all it's wonkiness it had a nicely entertaining 'leaning on cartoony but still detailed' aesthetic that prepubescent me liked. Even if 'the big 2' both struggled in terms of irl corporate history during that time, there were some importantly innovative points that were worked on during that period.

Even if I doubt I'll watch it, that a late 2k24 DC production has unintentionally wound up making an aesthetic akin from a '95 Marvel comic work in animation is something I appreciate.

Bless Xavier Farley of https://www.youtube.com/@XDF/videos for their meticulous takes on the outfits and fashion on a character by character basis from various anime and video games. Might they qualify as a 'comfort channel' ?, definitely a channel I'd watch more if I felt more secure about how to allocate my spare time.
