hobbies & activities for lonely people/things to do by yourself?
im sorry if this is in the wrong place- I tried.
ive always been a bit of a loner, especially now that ive lost the two friends I had.
im looking at home schooling/other schooling alternatives as i can't stand all the people around me ect ect.
This will leave me a lot of time to myself and by myself, I'm looking for ideas for things to do to pass the time (reading, knitting, ect)
Thank you!
Photography, it's great to do alone and the results are amazing if you nail the shot you have set up.
@systematic I'm an introvert, and I enjoy singing, playing the guitar and drawing. Those are the things I do while alone.
@mysticmagic
This sound like a great idea to do.
There are lots of interesting podcasts on a wide variety of topics as well, if that might interests you.
Picking up a new language or a craft that you could sell is a great way to start contacting new people and broadening your horizons through a mutual interest!
Video games, reading, writing stories, taking classes
When I was homeschooled (junior high-high school, did not get along well in a public school system at all) I ended up teaching myself photoshop and got really into art. Things like photography would get me out in nature in good weather and it's a bit of exercise too which is good. You gotta find things to get you out of the house for a bit. You'll go crazy always being in your house day in and day out.
I also really got into graphic design and web design. Taught myself some basic coding. This was when Myspace was really big and I started out designing those pages and worked my way up to pages from scratch for a real website. I ended up designing the menus for a restaurant I worked at a couple years later and if I had been 18, the guy who did the printing wanted to hire me as a designer.
I volunteered at a dog rescue as well. Mine was a pretty easy going one where you could just drop in (after a first initial visit of course to make sure you know what you're doing for basic walks), sign out a dog to take for a walk and you just had to stay in the area. Eventually earned enough good cred with them to be able to drive them to neighborhoods I enjoyed more and could also use as an opportunity for photography.
Even things like just taking your homeschooling to a coffee shop for the day can make it so much easier.
@Amor90200
I had volunteer at rescue animal shelter
I try to connect to other people. People rudely informed me that I bother people to much. It make more lonelier. I at the point where I just isolated myself from everyone all the time.
Watching movies and TV shows. Listening to music, reading web tunes, and lately I’ve been watching a lot of movie recaps. The YouTube channel, mystery recapped is good. Most of his recaps are more interesting than the actual movies. Has a good sense of humor.
@mysticmagic I don’t like most people either. Some things I like doing alone are: drawing, reading, painting models, playing video games (Genshin Impact is great, along with Terraria, Minecraft, and others), musical instruments can be fun, watching shows, and don’t forget about webcomics for reading ( the Legend of Maxx is a hilarious Terraria themed one )
