So basically, which game in your life has helped you deal with things like depression, anxiety, or anything?

For me, Pokemon helped me escape during my childhood. As I got older, RPGs like Skyrim really helped me get through stuff by providing an outlet and distraction. How about you guys?

I used to play a lot of PS 1 and PC games growing up! My favorite games were Harvest Moon (love, love, love this one!), Crash Bandicoot, and The Sims.

I've been trying to get back into gaming since my little brother got a PS 4 for Christmas two years ago. I've been enjoying playing Life is Strange, The Last of Us, Rise of The Tomb Raider, and Fallout 4 lately. I'm planning to play Mass Effect: Andromeda and Uncharted next!

Anyone here old enough to remember the joys of the Atari 2600?

I am helped by the game Fallout 4, with its post-apocalyptic world. There I can travel without harm for myself, find interesting objects (for life I am a collector), delve into the intricate lines of the plot.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf. It's a cute Nintendo simulation game that I would highly recommend. It's a slice of happiness!

Back in the day it used to be Pokemon, not so much anymore because the newer gens feel too kid-like to me.

Nowadays it's pretty much any survival game (which I find ironic because I've had such a hard time surviving reality). Namely Ark and 7 Days to Die. However, because I don't like PVP in those games, I'm somewhat limited in what servers/groups I can join. It goes from super fun chill time to being extremely depressing fast when you come online to find everything you spent days and days building up has vanished and you can do nothing but attempt to start over either on another server or the same one... That or, like my most recent Ark attempt, the community I'm involved in becomes extremely toxic (including admins) and there's no choice but to quit for my own sanity.

Occasionally I can get lost in strategy games or solid RPGs too. Easiest to get lost in strategy game is Endless Legend and for RPGs Final Fantasy 6 or 10 wins, both of which I bought on Steam semi-recently and have been working on playing through again even though I've played older versions so much.

Halo then Destiny with some Minecraft and Gwent mixed in there. All of them are because my core group of friends play these games, even if I'm not the biggest fan of some (one) of them.

Back when Kingdom Hearts & Kingdom Hearts II had come out... I was about 14-15 when I played though the second game. Really helped me deal with the problems I had at the time ❤️
