Nutrients..my next goal is Zinc n Magnesium

Hi all
I've been getting into my cooking recently developing already perfected recipes to introduce extra trace mineral, antioxidant & vitamin content. For certain functions. My next is to bump up my selenium intake.
Google *selenium*
A.tell me any tips on how
B.list a couple good things selenium does
+
C.you try add some into your meals too
🤗
Quick Tip/Clue Brazil nuts has ample selenium

Great job to you on trying to incorporate these things into your healthy living plan. As you continue to add these to your routine be sure to keep us updated & posted on how things are going and how you are doing with these additions!

First off, BIG congratulations to you for adding all these nutrients into your diet! Good for you!
Second, I googled Selenium to see what its benefits were and found out that it’s a micronutrient that helps the immune system function properly, stimulates white blood cells, reduces inflammation and oxidative stress, through the antioxidant properties it has it lowers the risk of cancer, helps regulate thyroid function (so anyone who has risk of cancer and/or problems with their thyroid function should start addySelenium to their daily diet right away), may be essential for sperm production, protects cells from damage caused by free radicals, may protect brain cells from damage over time, is a trace mineral that helps with hair growth, nail health, and supports healthy hair follicles, the reducing of inflammation and oxidative stress which are linked to heart disease means it’ll help lower the chances of having it, prevents plaque buildup and damage to arteries, may help reduce symptoms of asthma especially in people who have chronic asthma
The benefits of Zinc:
For Men - Increases testosterone levels, boosts your immune system, supports prostate health which is important as this also lowers the risk of getting prostate cancer, improves libido, improves the strength of muscles, increases exercise endurance, grows and repairs cells, maintains healthy hair growth, promotes fertility
For Women - helps produce immune system cells and fights infections, helps wounds heal by supporting skin health, is involved in the formation of collagen and connective tissues which helps skin, hair, and nails grow, is essential for hormone production, endometrial function, and fertility, protects the oocyte from damage related to oxidative stress, helps with the senses of smell and taste, supports normal growth and development in pregnancy, childhood, and adolescence, helps with thyroid function, protects against UV radiation, may lower cancer and cardiovascular disease risks
Magnesium is an interesting one bc there’s more than one type of Magnesium and what the benefits are depends on which one or ones you add to your diet.
However whether that is only for supplements or not is another matter that tbh idk.
But there’s the different types of Magnesium and what they are and/or what they do for you:
Magnesium Citrate - a chelated form of magnesium, well absorbed and can help with digestion
Magnesium Glycinate - combines magnesium with glycine the amino acid, helps with relaxation/sleep
Magnesium Oxide - an inorganic salt of magnesium that is formed by magnesium and oxygen ions.
Magnesium Malate - a combination of magnesium and malic acid that’s highly absorbable and can help with muscle pain and fibromyalgia
Magnesium Chloride - a salt that includes chlorine and is well absorbed in the digestive tract
Magnesium Taurate - a complex of magnesium and taurine the amino acid
Magnesium L-Threonate - a magnesium type that’s considered to be one of the most bio available and readily absorbed forms for human consumption
Magnesium Sulfate - also known as Epsom salt, this type is made from magnesium, sulfur, and oxygen
The best type or types of Magnesium for you (and anyone else who is reading this) depends on your health goals and how each of them affects you and your body.
Hope this helps you and everyone else. I’m proud of you! Best of luck to you with this! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ohhh Aunknown, this is amazing....
Right to the last drop 💧 😀
Right now I'm contemplating a magnesium bath. Inspired by you with my vetivert & Jasmine infused Epsom salts....pure bliss.
I love pumpkin & sunflower seeds they have a high dose of zinc n mag to offer 👌 this is a great post I'll refere this link in due course. Great stuff. What do you need or feel you could add more of in your diet?
What's your diet generally like?
Any new or extraordinary ideas 🤔

@joyfulUs2825
Pumpkin and sunflower seeds are definitely healthy as it has zinc and Magnesium. Bananas have magnesium in it too but idk if it has anything else like zinc in it.
My diet definitely could use more healthy stuff. For some examples, magnesium, zinc, sulfate - especially after the research I did for my previous post on their benefits which prior to that research I did not know they had - which I’m currently in the process of.
I’m so glad I inspired you 😁😁😁😁😁
@akunknown
Did you know Ak, bananas 🍌 are actually seeds. The seed of the tree I've been schooled on..
But they are a great source of potassium.
I prefer the green variety which I use to cook with I did a pot boiled with sweet potatoes and a gravey rich fish dish this week. Green banana is savory + addition to iron intake especially if cooked with the green skins on.
Ripe bananas I've always had trouble tolerating on the the tounge. But the ancient 'burrow' variety are nice for me and they are little doses of banana a 3-4bite job done ✅

Yes I’m fully aware of all this as I’m a regular banana eater but I appreciate you taking the time to tell me this anyway so thank you so much. It’s not for nothing though bc anyone who reads your comment that didn’t know will know about this.
I love bananas. I even eat the inside skin after the main banana is fully eaten. Great source of magnesium too by the way. I think zinc too but not sure about that tbh.
