Managing anger
Hello everyone,
I've come to realize I have a bad anger problem and I want to stop feeling this way. What should I do?

It is good you noticed that you have an anger problem and that you are willing to work on it! Perhaps try some of the tips in these posts: https://www.7cups.com/forum/CommunityProjectsEvents_184/ArticlesandQuotes_2369/4TipsforManagingAnger_292433/; https://www.7cups.com/forum/HealthyLiving_141/MentalEmotionalHealthWellbeing_1047/HulkandAngerManagementCinemaTherapy_296419/-

Being aware of your issue is a good thing....... maybe you need to go deeper and see what might be triggers......... it is easier to find tips that work if you see it
for example people who talk a big game then do almost nothing at work tick me off ..... almost too much....people tell me they are lazy do not let that get to you etc.... i realized my anger about their being just lazy or even dishonest about it ....... it is because in my personal life the person who gets under my skin does the same and so when i have it at work too it is not a mild irritation like it is for most co-workers but it is poking a open wound on me.
Same goes for people who come up with what they think is a simple solution to an issue........ BUT they NEVER considered A/B /C and those are the reasons their "great" idea does NOT work .........It has been tried before..........but until they SEE it for themselves that it DOES NOT work ........it reminds me of kids who have to fail INSTEAD of wasting time and money to find out other people can say ... " I told you so"
i know my triggers so i can smile and shrug off incompetence easier.
Realizing and accepting it is the first step
I use the gym, or a sport
Practice a discipline. Work out, practice breathing exercises, become more mindful. These things will help with more than that.
@justsomeone3796 i write all my thoughts in a paper then tear it agreesively or put all my anger on it. it helps lmao. you can try it

I have an anger management problem too.
I found the video in the Hulk - Super Hero growth path below helpful for me.
@justsomeone3796 I also have a bad anger problem and what I do is clearly not a good way to cope with it but whenever I get furious, I eat fast food.
@Zarram77
Me too! But then i feel bad about it and have difficulties explaing to my doc why i can't lose more weight, lol.
@LostTurtle2 I am also gaining weight and everyone taunts me about my weight. You know when everyone calls you with funny names in front of other people even when your own family members do this? So now it's making me stubborn too.

Ten Ways to Manage Anger
1. Ashwaghanda- natural supplement, no side effects, made the difference between a day with yelling and a day without
2. Meditation- Louise Hay has a specific Anger Releasing exercise free without ads on her YouTube channel.
3. Medication- More of a short term solution with possible side effects but helpful to many
4. Exercise- You'll no longer have the energy to flip out (That's in my experience) plus gain some confidence
5. Goals- Keeping busy and having a focus, no matter how general, can be a powerful redirect
6. The 4 Ds- Delay, distract, deep breath, drink water. Any of the above or a combination works
7. A daily routine (Daily10)- have ten things you do daily, from oral hygiene to cooking and cleaning and hobbies
8. Is there an app for that?- utilize apps to encourage progress. Fabulous app and Finch app are just a couple.
9. Let it out safely- Your bed wont mind if you beat the bjesus out of it with a tennis racket.
10. Art- Found to be the #1 method of emotion regulation. Art can be anything. Making a bed. Showing love.
Top Three Honorable Mentions: Affirmations, keeping a couple stones in your pocket such as hematite, amethyst or quartz and talking it out with a trustworthy professional; a mentor, friend, family member, peer, counsellor, healer, someone you admire, a plant, an animal or your journal. Or talk to yourself! Studies found those that speak to themselves regularly are more intelligent than those who don't.
