How do you find the motivation/get into the right headspace to meditate?
For some reason, whenever I try and meditate, my thoughts seem to become louder and I become acutely aware of many of them all at once. I used to be able to relax and feel calm while meditating, allowing my thoughts to come and go with ease, but I seemed to have lost that skill. How can I help to quiet this noise?

This is a really great question!..
One that I know I coudn't answer in the best way.. only because it happens to me too... I don't truly "mediate" in a specific way or a specific timeframe.... but for me I do take time to just relax and focus on myself and my feelings. To just focus on my feelings for a moment.
One thing that might be of help or possibly benefit you "more-so" is perhaps using a "Guided" meditation? Listening to One that can help guide you to specific focuses. And help you to tune-out other things and emotions during that time.
You can find them here as well as places like YouTube!... I used to use them both when I make the time to do so. Or even finding or downloading a mediation app to your phone. You can also perhaps get more ideas as well from our MINDFULNESS COMMUNITY here at 7cups! I'm sure you may perhaps find even more suggestions there that could also help.
Good luck to you on finding whats right and what works for you!
@PoliteOcean thank you so much!

HI Rachier,
Music works very well for me. First I listen to relax for 15/20 mins then I start meditation properly.
@rachier7Try insight timer. It is a free app.I has music, guided meditation, talks, live events etc. I am sure you will find something helpful.
Peace to you
