HEY EVERYONE!

⭐️ WELCOME TO OUR "FIRST FITNESS FRIDAY" OF THE 2022 NEW YEAR!~ 🎉

**TO GET OUR FIRST FITNESS FRIDAY OF THE YEAR STARTED, TODAY WE WILL FOCUS ON SOME "NEW YEARS GOALS WORTH MAKING" FOR YOURSELF! ~ FITNESS FOR THE "BODY , MIND & SPIRIT"!

**Why do we feel the need to set New Years resolutions? Whether losing weight, giving up something we love cold-turkey, hit the gym daily, etc? We're only Human, not superhuman! Its no wonder 80% of people give up on their goals in the 2nd week. So here's to a Sustainable and attainable 2022 New Years goals.

Setting Realistic, healthy goals, can help you to stay committed to them. And inspired towards reaching them!....

1.) TRY ONE NEW RECIPE A WEEK

This is perfect for those who get bored with eating healthy foods. Its important to mix it up so that you stay motivated. Plus it can possibly expose you to something you've never tried before as well as possible new nutrients! And maybe even a "new favorite"!?

2.) TRY MAKING ONE SMOOTHIE A DAY

Smoothies are very versatile, and you can get ALOT of nutrients that you need, and meet your nutrition goals all in one. You can load them up with healthy fats , protiens, and veggies that you might not eat otherwise?! And these are the perfect option in a crunch for time!

3.) TRY A NEW FITNESS STYLE EACH WEEK OR EACH MONTH

If you are lacking motivation, it might be time to try something new?! One way is to continue to try new things. One way to do this is through new exercise motivation.

4.) ESTABLISH A MEDITATION PRACTICE

Try simply starting out with 5 minutes... then gradually boost your time as you become more comfortable with it.

5.) READ ONE NEW BOOK A MONTH

Once you find a topic you are interested in, look for a good book in that area. And dive in without any expectations.

6.) DRINK AN EXTRA CUP OF WATER PER DAY

Start small..... instead of saying something like I'll drink less coffee, start with something simple, like I'll drink one cup of water instead! And perhaps slowly switch out one cup of soda, or coffee etc... with one cup of water each day.

7.) DECLUTTER THAT PROBLEM AREA ONCE A WEEK

We all have the "one" space that seems to always be cluttered. Instead of trying to tackle it all at once, start small and break it up into chunks. Removing something bit by bit every weekend. .... Also a mess (or clutter) can cause stress!.. So decluttering can help "DOUBLE" your goals!

8.) TAKE A WALK OR GET OUTSIDE DAILY

Walking or getting outdoors has incredible benefits. Not to mention you are simply "moving" your body!

9.) SANITIZE YOUR PHONE (AND BELONGINGS) WEEKLY

Get in a New Year habit of wiping down and sanitizing high-touch surface areas more frequently. Which can bring many benefits of staying well.

10.) EAT A SNACK BEFORE GROCERY SHOPPING

You'll be less likely to splurge on unnecessary goodies, it can help you to stick to your meal plan, and it will also help you to save money as well!

11.) PUT YOUR PHONE IN A DIFFERENT ROOM WHILE YOU WORK

Doing this can help you stay more productive in your work, goals, or other things you are trying to accomplish!

12.) BUILD A GRATITUDE PRACTICE

Doing so will leave you more grounded. Write down and say 3 things each day that you are grateful for. It can improve feelings of positivity AND mental health!

13.) COMPLIMENT YOURSELF DAILY

Positive self talk builds your self-esteem, self-worth, and self-confidence! Write yourself sticky notes and place them around your home so that you see them often and daily!

14.) START A WIND-DOWN ROUTINE BEFORE BED

Give yourself some TLC and end the day with a calming evening routine. Include things like Meditation, YOGA, Journaling, Hot Epsom Salt baths, or a warm cup of tea!

15.) DETOX FROM SOCIAL MEDIA FOR EACH MONTH

Constant scrolling can bring on Anxiety, Brain Fatigue, and Comparison problems! Give yourself a break by putting your phone away for the day at least "once a month"!

16.) PRACTICE RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS

When you do something nice for someone else, you feel good too! So do something nice for someone when they least expect it. Give yourself a much needed boost and lead to a happy healthier you!

Smile at a stranger, pay for someones meal, help someone with something, hold the door open etc...

17.) ADD EXTRA FRUITS AND VEGGIES TO YOUR CART.

The first step to eating healthier is to buy healthier foods! So when at the store, add some to your cart! Green leafy veggies, Seasonal fruits, (and these can also be added to smoothies! Which is mentioned above!).

18.) LAUGH ONCE A DAY

Laughter is the best medicine when you are stressed. And it decreases the stress hormone "cortisol".

19.) SPEND QUALITY TIME WITH YOUR LOVED ONES AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK

Fill up your cup with your loved ones... And when you are together "stay in the moment" with one another. And put down your phone!

20.) TRY A NEW JOURNAL PROMPT DAILY

Get to know the real you by completing journal prompts daily. You might be surprised what you learn about yourself.

@PoliteOcean

water XD I am actually trying to drink at least 1 bottle a day, and in fact 😀 I actually do random acts of kindness on cups at least once a week 🤭 and I try to laugh and smile as much as I can everyday but my main goal of the year is to be more open minded and willing to try new things 😀

🤭 I forgot to mention that I actually just stopped using social media all together 😀 why have potentially fake friends thinking they are your besties.. but yeah, it actually wasn’t hard to give up social media. I just woke up one day and was like *deletes these apps* and I haven’t looked back

This is REALLY Awesome!... I totally get and understand what you are saying. And I think its amazing that you were just able to stop cold-turkey for yourself. And realize the benefits of doing so. And I totally get the whole "fake friend" comment. Social media, while there are some benefits and pros, also has plenty of the cons as well. And alot of time people just post what they want you to see, or what they want people to believe their lives really are. Even though alot of it is phony. So that really is great for you that you were able to cut the ties and take that break for yourself.

Its really great that you are already incorporating so many of these things above! Sounds like you are on a wonderful 2022 track ahead!

@PoliteOcean

Thank you for this list! I've incorporated some of these strategies already, but definitely need to work on eating a more balanced diet. I eat too many carbs still! 😒
