βοΈThe holiday season can be a stressful time. Whether youβre planning last-minute trips, making sure youβve done your holiday shopping, or trying to cope with changing schedules in inclement weather, there is no shortage of things that can elevate your stress levels.
πToday's Topic Discusses: "EFFECTIVE WAYS TO REDUCE HOLIDAY STRESS"~
Here are some of the most effective ways to reduce holiday stress:
πIncorporating Activity: Simply getting up and making time to move in the Fresh outdoor air, or even squeezing in a few minutes in the morning, after work, or between commercials can help give you the boost you need to relieve stressors from your day. Or even help get your day started off on a better foot! Taking 5-10 minutes is all you need to get a quick boost!
πGet Organized Early: Take notes, make a shedule for yourself, project any holiday budgets, Getting organized earlier will help you allocate your time and resources more orderly. So you can avoid last minute scrambling to get things done.
βοΈSlow Down, Don't Rush: During all the hustle and bustle of things, it can make you feel like you have very little time. And added pressures can build up. When things get a little hectic, slow down, and avoid rushing through things.When you rush mistakes and added stress happen. Take deep breaths and focus, create a checklist for yourself that you need to do, sort them as you complete the list, thus creating some structure. This will also help you to prioritize.
βοΈBe Comfortable Saying NO: With holiday responsibilities possibly adding up, they can compound quickly If you always say Yes to everyone and everything,. During this time of year, you may feel obligated to say yes to all of it. Realize that you Can't please everyone. Which is why its a good thing with getting comfortable in learning to say NO! And setting and creating "Boundaries' in polite manner. And can also help you to reduce those last minute stressors and headaches.
πAvoid Comparison with Others: They say "Comparison is the Thief of all Joy".... The holiday season can bring lots of challenges including comparing yourself to others on some level. And can add to your stress. Learning to be yourself and avoiding comparing yourself with others and things is a great way to focus on what Really Matters! Such as spending time with your Family and Friends.
πFocus on Health and Well Being: When stress rises other areas of your life can begin to lapse as you place them on the back burner. During this time of year, Renew your commitment to your own health and wellbeing. And those "healthy habits" that are important!
βοΈBecome Comfortable with Imperfection: Stress can stem from your desire to make sure that everything is perfect. Avoid trying to create the "perfect" holiday and instead again, focus on the things that really truly matter.
βοΈBuild a Support Network: the next thing you can do to alleviate holiday stress is to seek out and/or build a support network. Through those who are close to you, or group support, whether person or online, or through family and friends. Also sharing responsibilities can also help you get things done in less time if you have a personal support system. But they can also be a great bonding experience for the people closest to you.
πRemain Optimistic: Keeping Optimism through the Holiday season can help you put things into perspective and avoid stress. Even the smallest things such as smiling frequently or laughing throughout the day can help you to reduce those times when you begin to feel stressed. When you remain optimistic, especially during this busy time of year, you may find that not challenge is to big to tackle!

These are really great tips, Ocean, specially about embracing imperfections, and catching breaks where needed, thankyou for sharing, I love the vibe these colours and emojis create hehe! β€
"Get organized early" is something I'm still working on π
**WHAT WAYS DO YOU INCORPORATE OR FIND TO BE "MOST" EFFECTIVE IN REDUCING HOLIDAY STRESS (Or Other Stressors)?
- For me personally, I have to remind myself that the holidays aren't all about what you buy. I'm starting to realize that during the holidays there's important things money can't buy like simple kindness, the time or insight you share with those you love the most, etc.
**WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT YOU MIGHT DO, OR HAVE DONE THAT HAS WORKED FOR YOU THAT IS NOT ON THE LIST?!
- The list has actually helped me start doing things that I'm not doing, this post was very helpful and a reminder for me to put most of these into practice
@SirenOfSerenity
Hey there Siren, thank you for your comments. I'm so glad you found the post helpful and beneficial to you. And that its given you some reminders to perhaps put in place for yourself. I think its awesome when we realize whats really important. And that some of the most important gifts come from "US" as a person, in what we can offer and extend from ourselves to others around us.
Thank you so much for stopping by to share with us!
@PoliteOcean WHAT WAYS DO YOU INCORPORATE OR FIND TO BE "MOST" EFFECTIVE IN REDUCING HOLIDAY STRESS (Or Other Stressors)? I really like to take time to myself to recharge and do activities that I enjoy to make myself happy. I like to drive around my neighborhood and look at all the lights with my friend!
WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT YOU MIGHT DO, OR HAVE DONE THAT HAS WORKED FOR YOU THAT IS NOT ON THE LIST?! I think getting enough sleep is so essential to making sure we stay happy and reduce the anxiety levels. I become so cranky if I am tired! π
Thank you for sharing these ways to reduce holiday stress!
@fruityPond7887
These are really great responses! I love doing all those things as well, so I totally get it.
And you are so correct.... getting enough sleep to function each day should be a priority for sure. Otherwise its like trying to run a car on "empty"! And we don't have enough "fuel" in our tanks to function correctly.
Thank you so much for sharing with us!
