❄️This past week was pretty standard for the most part... I can't believe how fast the last week of January flew by?!...  But, I started off Last Saturday with some Zumba, then afterwards celebrated a family member's Birthday a little early with some Italian Dinner~... Which for me also meant getting off track with meals a bit.. etc.. However the intent & goal was to just enjoy the day & spend time celebrating... On Sunday I got back on track with things, got in another Zumba class & prepared for the week.

☃️ As the week started off, allergies seemed to lessen a little bit, & I also continued on with my Group Fitness classes, & usual work, errands, & things of the week.... The weather here improved a little bit here for now, and we actually got a day or two this past week around 60 degrees~... So that also made it a great opportunity to get outdoors & get walks in with the Furbaby again~ I even noticed that some Trees on my street have already started to get their "Buds"!... I also found myself switching gears a little bit & even tried out a New Fitness class (one that I honestly didn't think I'd enjoy)... but after a little nudging from a few others, I gave in & gave it a try. And it went quite well!... So I will for now give up my One day a week at my 2nd facility to continue with this class, which will allow me to now keep "All" of my classes at "One" facility, as long as I continue to enjoy it, and not have to pay for 2 separate gyms...

💘 This weekend ahead intentions are to get in some Zumba-time both Saturday (and now Sunday with the newer class)... As well as getting some errands taken care of.... The upcoming week ahead will also be sending out WAY more "SPRING-Like" Weather & Vibes, with Temperatures getting up near 70 degrees!... That will be nice to see for a bit, (as I'm sure the weather will continue to go back n forth for a little while longer).... (However, "GroundHog Day" is on Sunday)!.. So anticipating what that prediction will be?!.. (All in good Fun of course)!.. Either way, I'm looking forwards to some warmer weather, more time outdoors, & more walks with the furbaby.~ (And eventually the return of more outdoor Festivals & Events)~ .... And of course Ready to continue on in my "February Goals" ahead.. (which I fell a little short of in January)~ So now just to figure out where or what changes I need to make &/or implement as we head into the First week of this New Month~

❄️Hey Everyone, Welcome to the weekend~... And welcome to the Month of "February"How is this First day of the New Month going for you?... First day of February is going well for me so far.  We had an ice/freezing rain/snow event over night so I will be cleaning that up this morning at some point....What are your plans for the weekend ahead?This weekend will consist of normal house hold chores....laundry, recycling center, dust and vacuum...its going to be cold again this weekend both days with highs in the low 20s....

☃️This is our "FIRST" Check-in for FEBRUARY~.... (We made it through the "First of 12 Chapters" of the year so far)~ As we enter "Chapter #2", What are you looking forwards to this Month ahead?...In January, I had applied for a new position within my facility at work....I didn't mention it because I wasn't sure how it would pan out and didn't want to jinx myself or get my hopes up....I interviewed earlier this week....I got the call yesterday that I got the position....the position is M-F with normal daytime hours....its more of an administrative/policy/procedure/compliance/making sure things are straight for outside audits, etc type of position, with some other duties tossed in....I will still be called on to fill in within the facility doing what I used to do, if needed, and am still subject to mandatory overtime when the wheel makes its way around to me, but I can deal with that....the new job will be challenging but its a change from what I have been doing for the last longest time....I'm hoping it is the change I needed to help me mentally and emotionally with my burnout and negative outlook on my employment situation....so for the month ahead, I'm looking forward to starting my new gig and falling into new routines...especially the routine of having Saturday and Sunday weekends as regular days off and working normal "daytime" hours.....both are something I haven't had in over 20 years.....Do you have any "New" Goals that you'd like to Share, Implement, or Accomplish this month?... What are some things that you will be working towards?!  I will be working toward implementing a new routine for my exercise and home routine due to new work hours and days off....

💘What is ONE "Positive" Thing that you did for yourself in this past week?.... (Take a look At this Post.. "7 POSITIVE THINGS TO DO THIS WEEK") CLICK HERE.... (If you haven't done any of them, then TODAY is a great day to start!)... Or... Try to start some in the Next Week ahead!... Even if you only pick "One" Day to try "per week", Try to work on completing each task and see how you do! I cleaned and de-cluttered one of my desks and the drawers that seem to catch everything(I have numerous drawers that act as catch alls or junk drawers)....and while it was a burdensome task while doing it, it was quite soothing to me when complete.....

❄️JUST FOR FUN:.. It's been a very "Hot Chocolate Kind of Winter"!... Which would you prefer in your Hot Chocolate (Whipped Cream... OR.... Marshmallows)?! Marshmallow Fluff......not sure how many folks know of it...it seems to be a New England/Massachusetts things from what I gather but its great in hot chocolate as well as with peanut butter in the form of a peanut butter and fluff sandwich....

☃️What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?....About 5 years ago we saw a show on Broadway.  After it finished, the show went on tour.  It made its way to a theater about an hour and half away and we able to get tickets for this past Thursday to see it again.....That was my highlight this week....we enjoy the theater....I've seen 3 shows on Broadway, to include "Wicked" and "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child"....there are a couple theaters within a 2 hour drive and we regularly see all kinds of shows....musicals and tribute bands mostly.....we support the arts....any time I get to go is a highlight of my week....and a good break for my girlfriend from the things going on in her life(see next paragraph)

 *****Trigger warning with my struggle.....This weeks struggle was watching my girlfriend deal with her mothers end of life things...I wish I could fix this for her but all I can do is support the best I know how.....her mom is now in the nursing home...they say it won't be long....a week or two if that....Supporting her is easy and hard for me at the same time because I know what she is going through.....I don't talk about this ever....its the first time I've ever mentioned it on 7cups in the 2+ years I've been coming here.....in Feb of 2016, my wife of 10 years passed away from metastatic breast cancer at 44 years old.....I know what it is to watch someone you care about live their last days, and even though I've grieved and somewhat healed, it is hard because of the memories it brings back....

@CyclingThroughLife

Hey Cycling~

That’s good that (despite the cold temps, the wintery weather mix and clean-up), that your first day of February is going well for you so far…. It also sounds like you have a good bit of work to get done and work on during the course of the weekend ahead. (I too had “fun” working on all of those same things yesterday).. But truth be told, I like housework and making everything look clean & clutter free! It definitely gives you a feeling of accomplishment.~ And puts you in a good place mentally!

Wow that’s great news for you in regard to your new position at work!.. Sounds like it will possibly be less stressful for you  overall, while also giving you a more steady daytime shift. Which in turn will hopefully provide the sleep & rest that has eluded you for awhile?!.. (I worked the nightshift for 20 years or so which worked for me at the time, but once I went back to strictly day shift, I suddenly discovered not only how much better I felt, but honestly all that I was missing & able to do & get done by going back to daytime)! ….Hopefully you will find this change to enable you to do & feel all the same… And who doesn’t love having a regular weekday position with weekends off to enjoy life more?! So that’s also a positive thing to look forwards to.  I’m sure that you will also find that you can deal with those other work “challenges” if they are only happening from time to time, as opposed to all the time. And that you will also see & feel a more positive outlook in your overall health & wellbeing.

…..Also how awesome for you that you will be able to implement a more stable workout routine for yourself with the change in your work situation. That was definitely one of the highlights for me as well! … I had a more steady routine, and was able to give more time to my workout passions. And get those instructor licenses. Which you may find that you also will have more stable time to work on yours as well?!

Great job to you on cleaning & decluttering your desks & drawers…. (Seems like those can be the most challenging when it all turns into junk!).. but yes, the positive vibes and feelings it brings when it’s all done is well worth it!

I have heard of the marshmallow fluff~ I seen it when I used to live up North but never tried it. Never had it in hot chocolate but it does sound good.

How nice that you were able to get out & enjoy a show… I haven’t done anything like that in a while, as I find I no longer have the patience (for lack of better term) to sit that long! (Same thing with movie theaters)… but that’s wonderful that you enjoy and that it’s also giving your girlfriend a break with everything going on in her life at this time.

Dealing with end of life situations surely isn’t an easy thing… I’ve dealt with it for years with as a Nurse, but it’s definitely less easy & more stressing when it comes to family. And It’s definitely not something we can fix, and all we can do is be there and support the best that we can. And it truly is enough…… I also do recall you telling me about your wife (about two years ago when you started posting here)… I remember you mentioning everything that happened with her, and telling me about your son together etc… Definitely a difficult & sad situation… It’s hard.. and the feelings never really go away. Time makes it slightly easier to carry and get through the day to day things. And of course, some days we will be ok, and your living life.. & then other days, out of the blue, “something” can take us right back to that place in an instant. I do hope that if your girlfriend’s mother is in hospice care, that they are also providing your girlfriend with the “family support” that is needed there. And references for support afterwards as well. But prayers for comfort & peace for all of you during your difficult time.

Please continue to keep us updated and posted on how things are going there and with everything else. Good luck with your new position and hopefully you find more enjoyment in it. Thanks for sharing your week with us, and continue to check back to let us know how you’re doing.

@PoliteOcean The transition of Greg living here has been rough. He is arrogant and bosses Leslie and Sifa around like they're his personal servants. The good thing is he stays in the living room 24/7 so that makes me happy. He's got a loud booming voice. Monday Leslie was 20 minutes late with breakfast. It causes me emotional distress.  I had an appointment with my PCP. I got an increase in my blood pressure medication and anti-anxiety medication. I'm very happy. My fifth ice pack has disappeared from Leslie's kitchen. I finally decided to buy two chemical ice packs and keep them in my bedroom.  Leslie bought two large jars of instant coffee so that makes me happy.  I finally told Leslie that she doesn't live here and this isn't her home. She didn't get mad at me or say anything.  Wednesday I shaved. Thursday I had therapy with Jim. I ran out of under eye cream. 😡 Living with Leslie requires extreme creative problem solving.  Why can't human beings just be normal. Saturday afternoon I had a home visit with the doctor from my insurance company. They are going to send me a $100 gift card in a few weeks. I finished Jude the Obscure this week but I still want to read additional commentary. My next book on the list is "Ethan Frome" by Edith Wharton. For this upcoming week I have another therapy appointment with Jim on Wednesday afternoon.

@Regmo

Hey Regmo~ That’s interesting that “Greg” is bossing around Leslie and nothing is  being said to him about it… But outside of that if he’s not causing any issues for you personally & stays away from you, then I’d say that was definitely a win & would try to continue to avoid him… As far as Leslie, I think that if you were able to tell Leslie that “it wasn’t her home” without it causing any issues, then perhaps you could possibly do the same in regards to your breakfast? By letting her know that if there’s a set breakfast time, that when she’s late that it causes you distress. Until then it’s good that you were able to get an increase on two of your important medications. And that you were able to hopefully solve your ice pack situation by keeping them in your bedroom & away from others… It also sounds like you kept up with other important tasks such as shaving, completing your book, going to your therapy appt., and your home appt, regarding the insurance company. The $100 giftcard incentive isn’t too shabby either. It Sounds like overall you made some headway on some things in the past week. So that’s definitely a positive there. And hopefully your upcoming therapy appt also helps to continue in aiding more positive results as you progress further with that. Thanks for checking in to share your week and continue to keep us updated on how things are going.
