🎄 This past week was well... I spent last weekend pretty much just finishing up everything I needed to do & get done before the Christmas Holiday... And then relaxed with some good Christmas movies in between it all... And as the week started off (& with the week being so busy), I just focused on getting-in & meeting at least the bare-minimum of activity & personal goals each day.~ However, it's also been a little challenging as I've been dealing with some allergy issues.
🎁 This week all Fitness classes were of course limited, so I worked on getting in the classes that I could, and getting in Home-workouts where I couldn't (& it went well)~... The weather was back n forth with various mixes of rain, cold, & a bit of mild.. So I at least was able to get outdoors with the furbaby early on Christmas eve day.... On Christmas Eve my son then came & spent the night with us as we did all our usual Christmas Eve traditions since he was a little boy.... And then on Christmas Day we went to my moms for dinner. Overall it was a great holiday week spent with loved-ones, (outside of the allergy issue).... I didn't track or meal-plan but just simply enjoyed myself, while at least focusing on my activity goals each day.~
🎅 This weekend there are again no classes, so intentions are to just get in a Simple Home-workout (when I muster up the motivation to do so!.. but it will happen!)..., & then put in some time in the workout room by adding in some new equipment... It's also another wet, rainy day, so time will just be spent indoors relaxing afterwards... As we get ready to enter the upcoming New Years week, I will be looking forwards to enjoying these last few days of December, while also looking ahead & mapping out New Year goals for myself.... As of now, there are no major New years Eve plans, but we will definitely celebrate ringing in the New Year with our usual traditions as we watch the "ball drop" on 2024 & enter 2025.~
@PoliteOcean This past week I got a lot of reading done. Saturday morning I worked on my quotation journal which I haven't done in about 6-7 weeks. As you already know, Stuart scratched me on Tuesday. I went for a walk once, but once I cancelled because I wasn't feeling up to it, and cancelled twice because it looked like it was going to rain. Thursday morning when I was trying to rest on my bed Amanda's daughter Grace was making noise, Stuart had the TV on in his bedroom and the dryer was making a pounding noise all at the same time. Stuart's volume on the TV can be adjusted to where he can still hear it but it doesn't bother me. There is no way Leslie or Sifa is going to agree to that. I went to the library 4 times but once I had to leave after a few minutes because the librarians were making too much noise. Libraries are noisy places these days. Leslie has been gone for 5 days to New Zealand. She should be back in a few days. She never tells me what's going on with her. God did another miracle. I got an unexpected check for $165 from a class action settlement from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Starting Jan 3rd I'm going to get a $38 once a month increase in my disability payment.because of COLA. Leslie's bad management continues to cause me to spend money on things I can't afford.
@Regmo
Hey there Regmo~ Despite a few hiccups in your week, it seems like you were able to have quite a few positive moments as well as some productivity... It’s great that you were able to get a lot of reading done as well as work on your quotation journal.. (I have to assume there that you had alot of quiet moments where you were able to do those things for yourself without extra noise)?!... It’s also good that you were able to get out for your walk at least once this week. (Same here for me as the weather has been a little wacky & uncooperative)… But it’s definitely a positive that you were able to get to the library 4 times (despite having to leave on the one occasion). How nice on the unexpected check. Free money unexpectedly is definitely a wonderful thing especially when it’s needed! And Getting An increase is also another wonderful blessing & benefit. Sounds like the increase could help since you have to deal with Leslie’s management skills?!.. So the increase will be something to look forward to next month. Thanks for checking in to share your week & keep us updated. Please continue to let us know how things are going.
Hey Everyone~ Welcome to the weekend~ How was this Last week of December for you & How was your Christmas Holiday (if you celebrated)?~ The last week of December was a little tough for me....I continue to deal with some medical things that have kept me from working out and it hasn't been good for my mental and emotional well being. While I have been doing some low impact mobility and flexibility workouts, its not the same as getting in a good hour of zone 4 spin or a good lifting routine......As far as Christmas goes, I worked Christmas eve and Christmas day....after that it was just a quiet restful day spent watching Harry Potter.....
🎁This is our very Last "4th & Final" Check-in for the Month of "DECEMBER" & 2024! .... This year has gone by so fast~... What is One of your Best memories from this past year?....One of my best memories of this year was my trip to Myrtle beach with my kids and grandchildren...... How would you "Sum" up December?...December was an up and down month for me, mostly due to my medical issue.....overall, it was more up than down though...... & How would you Sum up this past Year for yourself?! I have realized that a lot of the things that caused me the most grief were small things that I made big, things that I catastrophized with my thoughts, and ultimately, they ended up not being that bad.....after realizing this, and looking back, the events of this past year were not all that bad....on a ten scale, I would probably give it an 8.
🎅As We get ready to enter these last few days of the the year, How will you (or how do you typically) intend to celebrate New Years Eve?...I will celebrate New Years eve the same way I do every year....asleep by 8pm or so....I have to work a double shift on New Years day this year...what a way to start the new year....but.....it is what it is... And as that "ball drops" on 2024, & we enter 2025, What is ONE thing that you wish to "Drop" for yourself & Let go of & leave behind to lead a Healthier life for yourself Physically, mentally & emotionally going forward in the New Year ahead?! I'm not sure I wish to "drop" anything in that sense....I think I'd rather "pick up" new and healthier thought patterns, ideas, and habits pertaining to stress, healthy living and overall wellness.....one thing I have started researching due to my recent medical things is a holistic approach to wellness....not sure where this research will take me, or if I'll even incorporate any of the ideas into my routine, but I have found some interesting reading......
🎄JUST FOR FUN:.. If you could Ring in the New Year anywhere in the World, WHERE would you be?! Based on my dislike of large crowds of people, and assuming I could keep myself awake until midnight, I'd be happiest in my own living room....
🎁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... This week, I have been struggling with getting the proper amount and quality of sleep that I need.....I have a good idea why I'm struggling, but I don't really know how to get past or over come this hurdle......
🎅What is something that "YOU" want to Talk about, Add or Share with us this week?... WE want to hear from YOU~On Christmas Eve I finished my NASM CPT course.....I am anxious about the testing so I will review, study and take practice tests for now....I'm hoping to be confident enough to take the test by the second or third week of January.....
@CyclingThroughLife
Hey Cycling~
Sorry to hear that you are still struggling with some medical issues. Particularly one that is hindering you from working out the way you are accustomed to… I know when I was injured a few years ago (while also trying to instruct fitness classes at the same time), it really took a toll on my mentality knowing I couldn’t workout nor teach my classes the way I wanted to. So I truly understand the challenge there. Hopefully soon enough you will find yourself back to where you desire to be (& feel).
Ha! (We must be some type of kindred spirit here), as one of my favorite memories as well was my Summer trip to Myrtle Beach!.. Enjoying it with those you love & care for definitely make it even better…
That’s great for you that despite your recent medical challenges, that December was more up than down for you!.. And that you have continued to come to some personal realizations for yourself in regards to the past year. And that you have also rationalized things & situations into a better place overall!
I see that you also have some wonderful goals & ideas for yourself & your overall well-being for the New Year ahead. Those are some really great things to place your focus into for 2025! Excellent. Good luck to you on your personal research, as well well as your continued journey. And keep up the great work. 💪🏼
Nothing wrong with a more quieter approach to the New Year!.. I figure as long as I’m with or surrounded by my favorite person or people that it’s a good enough way as any other to ring in the New year~
I can relate to struggling with getting in some good quality rest… I also know that the older I get, that the quality is lacking even more… It’s good that you feel you know your “Why & Reason” for that struggle. And hopefully for you, you will in fact find & figure out a way to overcome it!
Oh wow!… Congrats to you on finishing up your course! Look how fast that went by?!! Seems like you had literally just started that & now you’re done… I think that’s a great idea to take the time you need to feel completely confident before taking the testing. Looks like you’ve already have so many wonderful goals to accomplish for 2025?! Keep going and knock it out! And We wish you well in them!
Thanks for checking in this week to share with us and keeping us updated. And Please continue to let us know how you’re doing.
@PoliteOcean
Hi, Ocean,
Happy New Year!
Gosh I'm tired.
How was this Last week of December for you & How was your Christmas Holiday (if you celebrated)?~ I'm tired. I've been playing phone tag with the lawyers. They're definitely interested. I'm also tired of working with the young woman who can't stop talking and making strange noises to get attention.
🎁This is our very Last "4th & Final" Check-in for the Month of "DECEMBER" & 2024! .... This year has gone by so fast~... What is One of your Best memories from this past year?.... How would you "Sum" up December?... & How would you Sum up this past Year for yourself?! I'm happy that the year is almost over and that I am in talks with the lawyers. My life is usually trying, and this month has been no different. In the past year I've been moving forwards, and that 's a good thing.
🎅As We get ready to enter these last few days of the the year, How will you (or how do you typically) intend to celebrate New Years Eve?... And as that "ball drops" on 2024, & we enter 2025, What is ONE thing that you wish to "Drop" for yourself & Let go of & leave behind to lead a Healthier life for yourself Physically, mentally & emotionally going forward in the New Year ahead?! I like to look at the new years eve celebrations from around the world. Sometimes I go outside, bang pans, and yell Happy New Year!
🎄JUST FOR FUN:.. If you could Ring in the New Year anywhere in the World, WHERE would you be?! Sydney Australia
🎁What were your "Highlights Or Struggles" of the week?.... How were you able to work through your challenges?! As usual, I just push ahead, and get enough sleep.
@purpleTree4652
Hey Tree~ Same to you, Happy New Year! 🥳
That’s good that you are still in talks with the Lawyers about your situation and that there seems to be an interest in a possible case… Until then, it’s even better for you that you feel that you’ve made progress in moving forwards over the past year. And you’re right, that’s absolutely a good thing. Keep up the great work.
I too like watching the different New Year’s Eve celebrations…, I literally “Lol’d” on your “bang pans” comment lol.. I can just picture you doing that too! And it made me recall when I was little doing that with my mom once!
Sydney, Australia is a great choice! (Australia is one of my bucket list places to visit one day)~
I’m with you on pushing ahead & getting enough sleep~ the sleep part is definitely crucial. And a great thing to focus on. 👍🏼
Thanks for checking in this week to share with us. And keeping us updated. Please continue to let us know how things are going. And enjoy your night ringing in the year with Chloe!
