Group chat rules: listening guidelines: error
Hey there,
In the group chat rules, nr. 12, the link to 'listener guidelines' does not work. The other link in nr. 12, to The Role of Therapists, does work. I think it is useful to know what standards there are for listeners, as well as them being available for members to try and follow that standard as well. Could the link be restored, please :)? I am asking because I love the group support chats and appreciate the rules in them.
All my best!
@OpenWindow I think 7 Cups is probably lying when it says "Item Removed". It seems to work when I am logged in as a listener: The Role of a Listener in Group Support
I agree with you that members should be able to see what standards there are for listeners, but in general 7 Cups' policy is to avoid transparency of that sort, so I think it's likely the listener guidelines are intentionally secret.
You could Submit a request and maybe someone will change it...but maybe not.
@7CupsCommunity might be able to contribute more information on this...or again, maybe not.
Charlie
@RarelyCharlie Thank you so much for answering and testing it as a listener! I suppose the post is not visible to members and this turns into the error 'Item removed'.
Hmm, I am confused, because I thought it was transparent in the past. I can understand if 7Cups makes the decision to not make it accesible for members, yet then it would be nice if the rules were changed for members.
Thank you for the link to the request form! Perhaps @7CupsCommunity can respond here. Otherwise, we will see if something will be changed or not. I can imagine it is a lesser concern :).
@RarelyCharlie @OpenWindow Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
The listener guidelines are not visible from the member account because the guidelines are posted in the Listeners Only Zone. That is why when a member tries to check the listener only posts, it says, "Item removed".
It is not a secret but to keep the rules clear for all. On an inclusive note, Listeners need to be appropriate and behave professionally in all the spaces of the site.
@7CupsCommunity Thank you for replying! I missed it when a listener was misbehaving and we as members could not explain what listener rules they were breaking, because we could not excess them. However, I suppose the solution for the future would be to call for a Mod, who does have access, and for them to explain how the listener can better follow the rules. :)
