I just lost my cat on Saturday

Summershy February 29th

I am going to post this under check-in today because I just lost my cat on Saturday night.    Basically, her health condition took a sudden nose dive in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday.   Though I tried to take care of her,  I could not save her.   However, he died on her own.

Since then I have been

1. Crying a lot

2.  Feeling tired

3. Feeling empty

However, I have been getting together with some people and visiting a few places where other cats are up for adoption.  While I realize I can't replace her,  I need another cat because I live alone and especially someone who can help me work through the grieve.

@Summershy I'm truly sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved cat. 😔 Losing a pet can be incredibly difficult, and it's completely normal to feel overwhelmed with emotions like sadness, exhaustion, and emptiness. It's clear that your cat meant a lot to you, and it's okay to take the time you need to grieve.

Visiting places where other cats are up for adoption shows your resilience and your willingness to open your heart to another furry friend who may bring you comfort and companionship during this challenging time. Remember, while no new pet can replace the one you've lost, they can certainly help mend your heart and provide support as you navigate through your grief.

Take care of yourself during this difficult period, and allow yourself to lean on friends, family, or support groups for additional comfort and understanding. 🐾💕

@Summershy

im so sorry about your kitty.  What was her name?  I love hearing about people’s pets names.  I’m glad that you are already looking at other kitties because there are so many that need a good home and it’s clear that you are a kind and loving pet owner that will do anything you ca. to make sure your pet is happy and healthy and lives a good life.  Just remember that you don’t have to adopt right away and that you will know when you find the right kitty to bring home.  No new kitty will ever replace the one you lost.  You can love both the one that is no longer here with you and a new one.   There have been a couple of pet losses recently so I’m going to make another post about pet loss so keep an eye out for it.

Hi:

I am currently fostering a young cat who I am seeming to bond with.  I have decided to keep him even though he's not my last kitty.   I miss her a lot.  However, he's a wonderful little cat who seems to make a little companion.

That's great that you decided to keep your foster kitty.  I hope that in time your heart will heal from losing your other kitty and that you will find that there's plenty of room in your heart to love your new furbaby.

He's a good choice for a cat too as he's so laid back.
