SCA: The Power of Self-Care

Hello Community,

7Cups is a community where you can find everyone advocating for self-care. Last week, we discussed the power of self-care in the Positivity Corner group chat and all participants shared their insights, encouragement, and support to promote the practice of self-care. This month we are celebrating the awareness of self-care and gratitude. 

But, something that often comes up is that self-care is often overlooked in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. It is a significant aspect of overall well-being. Many think and there is a misconception that it is about selfishness or indulgence. But, that is untrue. It is more about recognizing the importance of taking care of oneself to lead a more fulfilling and balanced life. 

We live in times that often emphasize productivity, goals, and success. But, we also need to understand that taking care of ourselves and each other is the way to live a well-lived life. So as you start your day to begin your journey of productivity and meeting goals, and other needs, do take a moment to do two steps of reflection and ask yourself a question: “What can I do to take care of myself today?” Once you answered the first question, the second question to reflect on, “What can you do to take care of others around you?” 

Responding to these questions can help you unlock the awareness of yourself and how self-care is beneficial for you.

Self-care and gratitude are truly such important things, any amount of reminders and reflective practices for the same feel less always hehe. Thank you for these discussions, Obziee!🌞

Self-care for me, in its simplest sense is being aware of my mind, body and soul needs and trying to provide it the same. 

How do I practice it?

I'm currently not doing a very-great job at it xD but how I would want to practice it?

By working on the bae-sics~ good sleep, nutrition, some kInda physical activity, relaxing my mind, engaging in some hobby, connecting with oneself!💛
