Reflection Question: Where can I learn to laugh rather than cry?
Where can I learn to laugh rather than cry? Life can throw us some tough moments, but I wonder if there’s a way to shift our perspective and find humor even in the hardest times. How do you turn challenges into something lighter? I’d love to hear your experiences and stories!
@kabir22 I'm a very positive person, intact positivity runs through my body, yep! My blood type is B positive😁😁
I believe the meaning of life is 'happiness ' ❤ we all have things to be greatful for, I know I have more than I ever could have imagined in life. And the most precious gift to us all is life, don't waste it ❤ but it's ok to cry too ❤
@Tinywhisper11
Those are wise words 💚 (High five) (we have same blood group haha)
@kabir22 ❤😁❤
I usually use irony as a means of humor. Irony is a helpful thing for me.
Sometimes, I laugh at things, saying, "oh, man. The irony." I have even laughed while being sad during a breakup. I laughed when I fell out of a boat.
I think of how ridiculous a situation seems. I think about what someone in my life would say. How they might crack a joke. And then just go with that.
Like, say, how silly it is that humans sometimes fight over things when we can just share like we did in kindergarten. There's enough for everyone. And instead of feeling angry, I laugh and just share.
It helps. It'll take some time, but the fact that you want to do that is awesome. I hope you laugh more. ❤️
hmm, Chandler Bing too much ? 😂 Humor as a coping mechanism , I say why not ? here's what might help , consider your situation in 3rd POV , like you're a narrator on national geographic , and narrate your own behavior as a unique species. This organism woke up in the afternoon today , spoke but a few sentences to people around , and seems to avoid responsibility of a task by coming up which strange urges to clean their room , watching comfort drama , and so on and so forth that seem to have no connection with the pending task at hand. You get the point, make fun of yourself, it keeps you humble also you may identify your unhealthy triggers and patterns this way. By the way you could also use this to narrate normal life events in an absurd way, be creative!
But I'd like to add, that as the movie "Inside Out" taught me , that sadness is a necessary emotion , it's important and serves a vital function. It is needed to balance out the happiness. The same goes for uncomfortable emotions like guilt, anxiety, shame. It is also necessary at the end of the day to sit with your discomfort, and evolve though the pain , "pain metamorphosis" if you will :)
I never used to laugh as much as I do now. I couldn't cry either. Few years ago something happened that changed my point of view about tiny things. I lost people that I loved the most including a parent. While processing that loss and grief I started to cherish little bits of happiness.
I had never laughed as much as I did when I saw my cat get high on catnip. She was doing weird things even scratched me🤭
We had hummingbird's nest in our home. Their little ones were not so good at flight at first. And once a little birdie while taking a flight struck a mango tree leaf. Thankfully it was alright but that tap sound made me laugh for almost a week every time I remembered that.
In my experience all you need to do to shift your prospective through tough times is hope that you will get to the end of that ocean of emotions that seems to be drowning you! Till then stay observant to little things around you that hold unimaginable capacity to make you feel better! ❤️🌹
