Share Your Favourite Quote

kabir22 September 11th

As title says, share your favourite quotes may it be from movie, book, drama or anything and let me and others know! (Feel free to unleash your inner writer and write something of own, that works as well)

My personal favourite is -"If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, 'thank you', that would suffice." - Meister Eckhart

"Human kind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of equivalent exchange"

@Noria

That show has some hands down best quotes, like "Nothing’s Perfect, the World’s Not Perfect, but It’s There for Us, Trying the Best It Can."

That one has always been a favorite of mine. I'm glad it resonated with someone here as well

I feel like everyone else’s are more positive, but the one that came to my mind was “You can justify anything if you do it poetically enough.” From the book If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio. That and “We are too much ourselves. Afraid of letting go of what we are, in case we are nothing, and holding on so tight, we lose everything else.” From the book Imajica by Clive Barker.

"A man who never made mistakes is a man who never tried" is personally my favourite because it shows that how making mistakes is a part of being human. We shouldn't be afraid of trying new things and that is where my other favourite quote comes in "If you're afraid of something THAT is exactly when you should do it". I hope others reading this also finds these quotes quite inspiring like I do.

My favourite quote:

"As you gain control of your mind, you gain control of your time and you gain control of your Life.

It all works together."

@kabir22

“And then, one Thursday, nearly two thousand years after one man had been nailed to a tree for saying how great it would be to be nice to people for a change, a girl sitting on her own in a small café in Rickmansworth suddenly realized what it was that had been going wrong all this time, and she finally knew how the world could be made a good and happy place. This time it was right, it would work, and no one would have to get nailed to anything.” ― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

I like this not only for the word play but also the irony. Just after this the world is destroyed and the idea is lost.

If in this *** of a world one can bring a little joy and peace even for a day into the heart of a single person, that much alone is true; this I have learnt after suffering all my life; all else is mere moonshine. ~ Swami Vivekananda Ji

Here’s one I like a lot. I forgot the exact words or where it came from but here’s something like it: ‘You know, when life closes your door, you can open it. That’s how doors work and are supposed to work.’
