Hello, Lovely Community!

Today is the Day-9 of our Self-Esteem Challenge. (The master post for the event is given here ). We will be focusing on the concept of Self-awareness and Self-acceptance which can help us in getting to know ourselves better, and also help us in building our self-esteem. ❤️

Self-awareness is when we observe and focus our attention on ourselves by being honest as well as introspective so that we can focus on the reality of our emotions and behavior. Self-acceptance is all about having a realistic awareness of our inner voice which helps us in recognizing that we all can make mistakes being imperfect, as well as we have the ability to attain noteworthy accomplishments. Evaluation of self helps in understanding the reasons behind our actions and working on changing the aspects of oneself which needs improvement, leading to acceptance of oneself.

Focusing on our mind and body, allows us to sensibly evaluate what we receive from outside and what we offer from inside of ourselves. It enables us to pay attention to our feelings, thoughts, beliefs, sensations, reactions, triggers, needs, and habits. Concentrating the attention on oneself involves being aware of one's emotions, identifying them, accepting their presence, and understanding their impact. To develop a thoughtful mindset involving awareness and acceptance of self, some effort and time for reflection with self is required, but this mindset can help us in increasing our EQ, self-esteem, and empathy, making our life meaningful, opening ourselves to new opportunities as well as becoming the best version of ourselves, once we begin practicing it.

We can learn to build Self-Awareness and Self-Acceptance within ourselves by practicing some activities, such as: Reflecting on our thoughts/emotions - Reflection brings perspective and understanding in our lives which helps to be aware; Monitoring our Self-Talk - Paying attention to what we say and think about ourselves, challenging any thought which is inappropriate/negative; Being open to Suggestions - Asking for feedback from supportive and trustworthy people; Sharing and considering perspectives - Making an attempt to view things from another's perspective and sharing our own perspectives; Noticing and reflecting what bothers you about others - Paying attention to the aspects of other people that irritates us. Evaluate whether it is really about their behavior or is it some quality in them that we disapprove of in ourselves, which is getting reflected back to us; Journaling - Recording our thoughts/emotions to identify, clarify and accept their presence; Practicing mindfulness, meditation, or yoga - These activities can help regulate our emotions, improving our physical and mental health.

What can you do to become a better version of yourself and what are three goals that you can set to work on yourself? �

To be better, I will just aim at improving 1% (of whatever area that I need improving). Three of them can be as follows:

a) I wish to be more mindful. To do that I will meditate regularly, even if it is for as less as 5 minutes 😇

b) I will try to keep the atmosphere �light with every person I meet. 👍

c) I will do some physical activity on a daily basis. 🕺

When we're aware of how we're feeling and why, we can extract ourselves from an overwhelming situation

Accepting ourselves can give is a boost to keep going and make progress

3) What does it mean to be ourselves?

Be comfortable and accepting of ourselves and who we are

What can you do to become a better version of yourself and what are three goals that you can set to work on yourself?

I can become a better person by taking care of myself

1) sleep better

2) eat better

Self-awareness can help us stay grounded when feeling overwhelmed as it can help us be aware and mindful of ourselves what is happening around us, and can help us think clearly and think about the present.

2) How can self-acceptance help us unlock our motivation to make progress in our life?

Self-acceptance can help us see ourselves in a true and clear light, and can give us an idea on what we actually might be able to grow on.

3) What does it mean to be ourselves?

It means to act in a way that is natural to ourselves, to embrace our traits, our flaws, to embrace our personality, and to show who we are as a person without hiding parts of us.

I can try my best each day and work with what I know and have. Three goals I have are: be kinder to myself, think about the whole situation before reacting impulsively, and to practice more self-care.

1) How can self-awareness help us stay grounded when feeling overwhelmed?

When feeling overwhelmed, the thoughts are all over the place, being aware of oneself helps to focus on the thoughts ,distinguish between things in our control and outside our control of action and thus rationalize our emotions. �

2) How can self-acceptance help us unlock our motivation to make progress in our life?

when we accept ourselves, no one else's opinions on us matter anymore, we know that the only person who has the maximum potential to do right by us is the person we see when we look into the mirror � and thereby igniting our self worth to do better �

3) What does it mean to be ourselves?

To be content with oneself, believing in self and just being the way we perceive as ourselves negating all kinds of "societal " expectations and judgments!

�1. Try to procrastinate less

2. Try not to overthink things that are not in my control

1) How can self-awareness help us stay grounded when feeling overwhelmed?

It helps us seeing clearly what our strengths and resources are, so even when we feel overwhelmed, we don't let the negative thoughts overcome our determination. When we're self-aware, we acknowledge the good things about us that we can resort to in difficult and overwhelming situations.

2) How can self-acceptance help us unlock our motivation to make progress in our life?

If we don't embrace our identity in its entirety, we'll keep focusing on the negative things that discourage us and keep us from self-improvement. With self-acceptance, we can embrace who we are as a whole, the good and the bad things, and acknowledge that we are worth the effort of improvement. This way, we can find the necessary motivation to make progress.

3) What does it mean to be ourselves?

It means acknowledging our identity and not compromising it, no matter what the world throws our way. It means identifying what makes us the person we are, and staying true to it in every circumstance.

I can establish my priorities in life, the values worth fighting for. Then I can try to identify concrete ways in which I can make a difference, based on my possibilities. 3 goals could include: improving my self-confidence so that I'll be able to really acknowledge what is in my power to do, practising patience and mindfulness, keep improving as a listener.

It can helps you identify the emotions, and thoughts provoking that overwhelming feeling. Being able to do this will provide ways to substitute this feelings with others. Self-talk could be useful here.

2) How can self-acceptance help us unlock our motivation to make progress in our life?

It would make us aware of what we can, and can't do. This might even provide a development of resilience, and learning process when mistakes happen. �

3) What does it mean to be ourselves?

It means accepting who we are, what we like, what we want, and embrace it in such a complete, deeply way. �

Something I can do to better myself is to work on my insecutirities, and be proud of what I've accomplished even if I know I can do something better.

1. Everyday remember one thing (or more if possible) that made me feel proud of myself.

2. Write down my mistakes, and analyze what I can work from it.

self awareness can help us stay grounded when feeling overwhelmed because it helps bring us back to the present, to notice those feelings and to also know that they will pass

2) How can self-acceptance help us unlock our motivation to make progress in our life?

self acceptance can help us unlock our motivation to make progress because it is recognizing the difference between what we can and what we can't change and doing what we can with what we've got

3) What does it mean to be ourselves?

to be ourselves means to embrace all that we are even the quirky and questionable parts of ourselves that we can often hide behind a mask in front of others, to know that we are enough just as we are and that it is okay to show up as ourselves just as we are without having to hide

Icebreaker: What can you do to become a better version of yourself and what are three goals that you can set to work on yourself?

to become a better version of myself, i can allow myself to make me a priority-to be self aware of my thoughts, feelings and behaviours, noticing any unhealthy patterns and replacing them with healthy ones

three goals i can set to work on myself include:

-continuing to set time aside for self care

-asking for help and knowing that it is okay to ask for help

-if i am having a not great day, allowing myself to acknowledge that, and treat myself with kindness-rather then interpreting the struggle as me failing

Self-awareness gives us more confidence and hope in our selves during overwhelming times. �

2) How can self-acceptance help us unlock our motivation to make progress in our life?

self-acceptance is the idea of accepting ourself who we are by that we can move past the barriers such looks or personality that usually keep you behind. You can focus on more important things just by believe is yourself. �

3) What does it mean to be ourselves?

being ourselves is about being honest to ourselves. When a person never compromises his/her self for the sake of others, he/she are themselves.

- I want to be able to more outgoing to people by being myself and not pretending to be someone I'm not

- I want to be able to move on from past pains and just accept them

Because by being myself I will make the real people in my life walkway. The real me is not a good person and I'm scared if they see that, they might leave. And as for fake relationships, I know it because some of my friends are my friends only because i do some sort of work for them. My life is a lie but its so much easier living this lie than in he reality.

I can become a better version of myself by increasing how much I help out and contribute to society.

3 goals:

Have a conversation with a member on 7 cups of tea 3 times a week.

Phone call my neighbours or send them text messages more often

Watch less tv and use that time for other things. �
