April is Global Volunteer Month: Celebrating our 7 Cups Community!
Hey everyone, and happy Global Volunteer Month! Here at 7 Cups, we're incredibly grateful for our amazing volunteers who dedicate their time and compassion to supporting others. You are the heart and soul of our community and at the core of what we do in providing listening, leadership, and a safe space for members to cope, heal, grow, and thrive.
I have several forum posts planned to cover different aspects of volunteering on our platform (and I invite you to make forum posts as well!).
For starters, let's kick it off by reflecting on our purpose, and our foundation:
Why do you volunteer?
What motivates you to give (or give back) and support others on their journeys?
Let's use this month to appreciate our helping community and share the stories that inspire us all.
Looking forward to reading your replies!
Bonus 💗 please tag fellow volunteers to share their insights, too!
@Heather225
I'll begin by tagging some people representing from different domains and roles to provide great insight and perspectives in every area of our multitalented community:

And a great post H 💕
Why do you volunteer?
I volunteer because I feel that everyone deserves support,
if I can support one person in their healing journey then that's wonderful!
It's something that I am truly passionate about, as well as doing all that I can
to serve this amazing community the best way I can.
We have a wonderful community here, amazing people and brilliant leaders,
being here is something that I find very giving and it has helped me grow as a person.
✨
What motivates you to give (or give back) and support others on their journeys?
I know how it's like to be without support, it's something I wouldn't wish on anyone,
so it gives me a lot of joy to be able to provide my support to others.
We all deserve support, we all deserve to have our emotions, thoughts and feelings
understood and validated. And being able to provide someone with just that is
absolutely magical!
✨💙✨

@Heather225
Honestly when I first joined 7cups, I joined because I wanted to listen to people and support them. Now I keep coming back because the community itself is so sweet. I love hanging out with members in the group chats and love hanging out with fellow listeners in the rooms. I enjoy helping shape the new listeners and educate them on Active Listening. While I do not take many chats with members, I like to think when I help a fellow listener with developing skills, that I by third party have helped other members too

Amazing post!

Thank you for creating this post 🙏
Why do you volunteer?
What motivates you to give (or give back) and support others on their journeys?
The reason I volunteer is that I simply believe it's what I have and want to do. It comes from my heart. I've been through rough times and survived so I would like to be there for others to offer a hand to hold onto and an ear to listen. We all need help at some point. I received a lot of help here, realized how much harder than me some people have it in their lives so I want to give back to our community.
