Feeling like a failure.
I’m aware this is a feeling, that it’s a mindset I have the power to change. But I can’t seem to find that power. I’m in an emotional slump, the negative self talk is so strong I feel convinced by it.
@Case3952 Hello! I hope you are doing okay! I am really sorry that you are struggling with negative self-talk. I know how invasive the thoughts can be and how strong they can be too! It definitely is hard, but we are able to fight back against these thoughts! It's about trying to reframe the thoughts/thinking when they pop into your head. Journaling is also a really great method for reflection. We have great Listeners here as well that you can chat with at anytime. 💙 I hope this helps! You are never a failure and you can do this!! 😊
What's so bad about failing if you understand it to be an opportunity of learning and growth? Plus I remember reading about how we tend to over generalise things which is a cognition error for eg when we fail at one task, we see 'us' as failures entirely. We are probably succeeding in many other behaviors that we tend to overlook. Maybe try thinking about things you have achieved while you acknowledge your failures?

Dear Case,
I'm so sorry your negative self talk is so strong. I understand and have been there many times. When I get stuck I reach for 2 powerful books in my emotional toolbox. It may not be for everyone but it really helps me. The Four Agreements and The voice of Knowledge By Don Miguel Ruiz. These self help books really show how that little voice inside our heads is wrong and how to help get rid of it. I have read these books more than once to help myself on so many occasions. Your not alone in your struggles my friend. I hope this helps you in some small way.
Best always
