Star Leaders Assemble ✨
Hey hey Team, I hope the title worked as intended lol, kinda like "Avengers Assemble" but make it Star Leaders for Peer Appreciation Program heh. 😛
*serious stuff*
So, I've been thinking that forums are a great place to share our thoughts, feedback, updates as it also helps in tracking the necessary information, or to refresh and/ or edit on a later date.
We do have the PA's room in our dashboard, but I feel having a place in the forums to keep a track of any important information, update, detail, suggestion would be helpful as well.
Specially after the recent post made my Fristo, that mentioned that PAs are free to act on decisions they feel would benefit the program without prior discussion or approval, I admire the faith Fristo has bestowed upon us but I also do like a sense of commitment as a team, more transparency and accountability with each other, along with a clearer communication and mutual understanding.
Going forward, we can use this thread to update/ keep a track of any changes we make or any suggestions we have for each other, or for our beloved program to flourish even more. In short, to communicate amongst each other.
We can ofcourse share our thoughts too as required on any suggestions that we consider to implement. Our common goal of spreading more smiles, positivity, inculcating a sense of gratitude and appreciation in the community should be winning always, and we indeed work together as a team to continue making it happen. ❤

And, @VerseArt for any P&G related updates, that concern PAT as well.
(Thread only to be used by the Star Leaders of Peer Appreciation Program)

☆ Glad y'all are on the same page about a different thread meant for only self-appreciation sent in via peer appreciation form, Gloria and Elliot.
☆ Great suggestion about adding the self-appreciation messages in that thread too, Gloria.
☆ Yes, Fristo, you got it correctly. Two separate threads. I see why you'd feel it maybe confusing for the team mates, but won't the names of the threads and the kind of appreciations it says on the form/ dash make enough sense to segregate amongst the two? 😮
Currently when someone sends a self appreciation, they tick off the "myself" option when asked "who is this appreciation for?", so that's indicator #1, #2 the threads being called "Self appreciation thread" & "Peer appreciation thread", #3 could be a color code edit in the dash that could separate the two kinds of appreciations from each other? (hoping this one is technically possible lol @dtanushree, @bubblingbreeze14, @CosmicMiracle and other star leaders, any inputs here, about an easier way to distinguish between the two in the dash?)
>> Any more suggestions on how we can make it easier for our team mates to not get confused? [We already have the main thread linked to the dash, we can have the self-appreciation thread linked also, along with an explanation about the purpose of the thread]
>> And ofcourse no running after anyone, if they "mistakenly" post the self-appreciation post in peer appreciation thread lol. 😛
>>> I agree so far it is non-confusing and simple, however, from what I have noticed the self-appreciations sometimes seem to get lost, in terms of replies in the thread (it could also be a conscious choice of the person to not reply to this ofcourse), but I feel self appreciations can serve us a higher purpose of encouraging more people here, when it's all in one place, and "not-lost", if that makes sense.
>> So just wondering if one-place for all the self appreciations can help in boosting self appreciation in the community, personally, I think it does feel like an encouragement seeing someone else do it.
>> It might take time to get used to it, but I do feel, it'll be kinda nice also.
☆ Wonderful ideas, Fristo and Tina, about the monthly mass-tagging and checking on the progress one has made in their self-love journey, via appreciating themself regularly. Pop up sessions too sound great, we can certainly try our best at encouraging more and more people to be kind to themselves and others. 🥰
I really appreciate everyone's input, many thanks, team! 👏❤
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
I do have some ideas to make it look less confusing but I wonder if its a time consuming thing.
Right now we have two types of appreciations:
Peer to peer appreciation/Self appreciation
The dash mentions "Peer Appreciation Hall" which is great and not confusing for peer to peer appreciations along with the peer to peer appreciation form link.
My suggestion is:
We can have a separate form link and a separate space named "Self Appreciation Hall"
Everything will be same in both the spaces except that one is for *peer to peer* another is for *self*
So what we can do is- we can mention in the main program thread or wherever the form link is available that now we have separate forms for self appreciations. We can inform about this in the group discussions too whenever they are being held.
Benefits would be:
- Less confusing.
- We can encourage peer appreciators in the old link that "we have self appreciation link as well and whenever you appreciate someone remember that you are also a part of this lovely community and Go above and beyond for yourself! You do it for family, friends, and colleagues, but don’t forget about YOU. It’s important to include yourself… You are worthy of your own kindness, too!"
- We will give spotlight to "self appreciation" as much as we have the spotlight for "peer Appreciation"
Demerits:
I think it'd take lot of team work to do this... If its a new link, new thread, new space in the dash.
We will need to mention everywhere we have a new link for self appreciation (altho we can just mention the new link with the *why appreciate yourself* thing in the old form)
Regarding a separate color code edit in the same hall, we already have too many color code edits. I think it's good to keep it simple too.
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou I love the enthusiasm and spirit! And I also agree that a separate thread just for self-appreciations could be really really encouraging for the community. Just the execution part means more instructions and more info for the team members to keep in mind. I want to keep the instructions as less as possible, so that the new team members especially do not feel overwhelmed with a lot to grasp and get familiar with. Also, we'd need this info added to the appreciation form too to let the appreciator know that the self-appreciations get posted in a different thread, and that makes the form look less pretty and more crowdy -something which can repel people from using the form that often.
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
Thank you for the tag Sun 😊
Sun, What you've requested could be done in the appreciation hall.
Considering what @dtanushree has mentioned, creating 2 separate tabs in the dashboard (one for peer appreciation and the other for self appreciation) is also a possible route.
I must add here that if the plan is to add two tabs then we actually won't have to create 2 separate form links. Instead we can do it with the same form. Our dashboard has been designed to cater that kind of functionality so it's not a problem.
Though I must say, a small analysis on the impacts of how using a separate thread for these 2 types of appreciations and using just one, would be a great support going forward.
Sorry if I overstepped, but it's just my idea and I do understand what others have been commenting regarding the idea. Both ways have pros and cons, so I think a look at what we've been doing so far and how it would change when a new method implemented would be a great way forward!
Always rooting for this amazing team!❤️
@bubblingBreeze14
Thank you! That's a good idea breeze. There's always room for new ideas. Just that we need to choose the one which is acceptable by all or majority. I don't even know if what i shared is a good idea :p :)
@dtanushree Good to share thoughts always, tanu! Any of the star leaders is free to go ahead if they believe in their plan and we'd believe in them💛 Sharing insights and thoughts is just a way to help one another see better!
@Fristo
Oh! Yes I forgot about it. Fair enough :)
@dtanushree
😊 Well... in my eyes, there's no bad idea. There are good ideas that are ready to be implemented straight away and there are ideas that need a bit more molding to do before executing.
Besides, what matters is your enthusiasm and that you gave away an idea. That's what team work is about. We learn and improve each day!
Thank you so much for your ideas, and yes I'm sure our team would come up with the best strategy for these two types of appreciation. We just need a little bit more stability and that's all!
And.... you all do some amazing work, don't ever forget that 😉❤️
