How can having a grateful attitude help you through hard times?

Asruu August 29th, 2020

Hello Positivity and Gratitude community,

Today, we are exploring the word Gratitude

So, let's ask ourselves, What is gratitude?

"Gratitude is the best attitude" It's often believed that gratefulness is directly related to happiness, hope, and satisfaction. Sometimes we may find it easier to feel grateful for things when everything is going on smoothly but when things get difficult, we may find it hard to be grateful for what we have. While on the times, when things go well, we may take things for granted but when we feel things are uncertain, when the situations in our life don't happen the way we want it to be, we realize that sometimes things can go out of our control and probably that's when we can realize that it becomes harder for us to take things for granted and each little good thing seems precious. Either way, consciously developing an attitude of gratitude can act as a cushion for us, during hard times. The process of remembering our journey through difficult times, valuing our every little progress, and appreciating how much we have progressed sets up a fertile ground of gratefulness.

Benefits and how it helps

It is an instant mood booster and feels great in the moment youre likely to feel closer to friends and family, youre likely to enjoy your life more.

It helps in improvement of our physical health.

It makes it easier for us to cope with tough times.

Good things in life dont stick in our heads as easily as bad events. We tend to remember when bad things happen, and the time we spend thinking about them makes us unhappy. But, if we make an effort to increase how often we experience gratitude, it can balance out some of the negative events.

However, this does not mean that you should ignore or forget your problems, or that the things wrong with your life are unimportant. It just means that good memories will also stick in your mind, so you get to enjoy them for longer.

Ways to show gratitude and keep track of it:

1. Keep a Gratitude Journal

2. Practice Mindfulness

3. Express gratefulness in what you have

4. Spend more time with loved ones

5. Volunteer

6. Improve areas in your life for yourself

7. Do something for someone else

How important it is to be grateful and how does being grateful make you positive? Let us know! heart

Being grateful is important because it's one of the ways to remind ourselves that the support we receive in our journey of life is very precious and we shouldn't take these support systems for granted.

Being grateful makes me feel happy and calm during hard times. Because everytime i fall, i know that so many things and so many people are never going to give up on me. That's the best thing in life and it is magical for me. For example: Our Earth. It gives and gives and never runs out of the love it has for everything. We should be grateful for the unpleasant moments in our lives too as the unpleasant ones made us stronger than before.
