Your Chatroom Discussion Ideas
Pop-up discussions are fun! If you aren't familiar, pop-ups are 30-minute discussions that can take place at any time. Some are planned well in an advance, while others are completely spontaneous. The topics typically revolve around positivity, support, or something fun - but really anything goes. It's all up to the host. That’s where you come in! If you were going to host a pop-up, what would it be about? Don’t be afraid to think outside the box with this one! I can't wait to see your ideas!

Id discuss self-care
@hopefulsnowflake
That's an interesting topic. It's a good reminder to take care of ourselves better than we probably do. What's your main go-to act of self-care when you feel stressed?
I take a break sometimes coffee are good and sometimes I need me time like I separate myself from anything and just take a time from myself watch a movie things like that
I would love a discussion about Buddhist Psychology. But I know spirituality is a no no on 7 Cups.
@LovingPeacefulHeart I don't think it is a no no :o they also have Spirituality as one of the topics us members can seek support for, so I feel it is a great topic for discussions too! 💛
I saw your post, https://www.7cups.com/forum/GeneralSupport_28/WelcomesandIntroductions_1555/Iamheretohelp_287985/ @BodhisattvaKuato
Would you be interested in hosting something like this? I feel you have some great insights to offer 🤍
@optimisticempath I feel like I don’t know enough about it to do that. :-/
I was sexually abused when I was a little boy. I had nowhere to go for help for many years. I would like to talk about that and what is being done for boys now (not much where I live - the resources around here are still for females only).
On a lighter note, creative writing and the barriers one has in one's own mind that keep one from just sitting down and writing.
@WharfRat
I'm sorry that happened to you, and you're right, there really aren't enough resources out there for men who survived sexual abuse. Would you feel comfortable leading a discussion on the topic?
@GoldenNest2727
I don't think I could lead a group. I'd like to be part of a group.
I would like to discuss the topic on how would you define yourself? There are so many personalities in this world, but so many people like myself, struggle to define ourselves emotionally. There are things you cannot see about yourself which others can. How do you know which traits are the best examples to describe you? What kind of person are you really when you self asses yourself over your mental condition.
I've had trouble making pie crust.. how about a discussion on making pies..
-- baking bread
--baking cookies
--homemade soup ideas
And then there's always a need to help motivate each other to exercise more.
--share different exercise routines...resistance training, running/walking, using a tracker
Also for those with insomnia, share ideas on how to get a better nights sleep
just moved to a new state and I'd love to attend a popup with suggestions/ways people found doctors they LOVE for people in a new place (without a support network yet)! Using google and calling random providers in my network and reading reviews online isn't cutting it and is taking too much time... how did you find a dentist you love? How did you find a gyn you love? How did you find a primary care provider who listens? How did you find an eye doctor? An allergist? A dermatologist? I'm asking everyone for referrals but am wasting money/time/energy on people I don't want on my team. Hoping to hear positive success stories :)
@onwardforevenmore
Good idea! Moving is such a pain, and most folks don't realize that it goes deeper than just finding a new place and unpacking boxes until they're already in the deep end. You have my sympathy. I can relate to the frustration. I hope you find service providers that work for you soon.
@GoldenNest2727
Heyy
So I know I'm not a listener, but I still wanted to post my idea...
I have autism and ADHD, so maybe a room where a bunch of neurodivergent people could share their experiences?
Because I know there are good listeners out there, but talking to people who can relate to you is just different, you know.
I hope I made sense and sorry for rambling.
@artisticCoconut81194
It's open to everyone, Coconut, Members and Listeners alike. I'm not a Listener, and I've hosted many events. The GLDD program is also open to us Members. Why don't you check it out and see if you'd like to join the 7 Cups Academy GLDD program. It's completely free, and I bet you'd be good leading discussions. You seem to understand your inner-workings and strengths better than many other people, which goes a long way. Plus, diversity/inclusivity is important, and you could help 7 Cups better serve our community.
