I've been trying to attend a peer to peer training session for over a year or two now, but they are always too far away because I don't drive. However, I have printed out resources provided by NAMI and given them to multiple people over the last few years. Also, I have attached links to the NAMI website on my Facebook page.

I found a NAMI peer to peer training session that's only 15 minutes away from me. I start on January 13. I'm really excited. I've been trying for years. @Averyisheretohelp

I often recommend peer support groups to members in chats including NAMI Connection.

I tell everyone I know about NAMI, especially the DuPage IL chapter. I learned about them from a hospital presentation and took a W.R.A.P. class to manage my PTSD. I believe it is an amazing, free offering!

@Kate

In all honesty, the ways it's influenced me are countless. But more specifically, being in NAMI has really pushed me to know more about mental health, and it's noticed. Often, I have members ask if I'm "like a psychologist or something"; no, I'm not. I do try to understand mental health, and that's very much because of NAMI.
