Need some inspiration regarding this topic? Feel free to read the content below.

Making choices and decisions are a part of life. Simply put, the way life unfolds, with its twists and turns, starts and stops, requires us to make choices and decisions every step of the way. ... many people dread change because this means they will have to contemplate something different from what theyre used to and maybe even be required to make change. ...

No one is expected to get things right all of the time. We often dont… but, having some idea of what to do will help to make the big choices and decisions easier. Good decision-making is one of the most important life skills to own. [Source].

And choosing not to make a decision is a decision in itself!

Why we do the things we do
How we make choices

Stuck on what kind of goals could go with this theme? Here are some goal ideas:

→ to decide to start setting goals

→ to prioritise the various things within my life

→ to decide how to approach a situation

→ to think about whats important to me

→ to choose where I would like my focus to be

→ to decide a time for doing something Ive been putting off

→ to try and make the best of a bad situation

Oh my gosh, this goal week scares me!!!!!! Decision making is something I struggle with a lot so let's see how this goes.

1) Decide on a college course & Go talk to the college on friday

I'm gonna try my best to choose a course and then go on friday to actually start the process of applying to a course. I'm extremely scared to decide because I hate potentially failing in my decision.... but I'm gonna push myself!

2) Decide how to approach my lack of therapy.

So there's two ways I can approach this being I can either call the central intake office from which I was referred to 2 different groups/clinics however, I want one-on-one therapy and I forgot to ask for that during my intake session as it was very emotionally taxing. Or I can call a free youth center counselling group that I found the number of online and they are an hour bus ride away but it's free counselling. I just have to work up the nerve to call them.... which to call as well....

Decisions, decisions!!

1. Decide when to unclutter my bedroom. This is a big one for me because I honestly think it will help me feel better and more focused if I didn't have to look at so much crap around my room. I think a good way to approach this is to pick a time when I am most relaxed and not thimking about other things to do that day for at least an hour. That way I won't feel so overwhelmed. I can also just start small and workwith sections. I don't have to tackle the whole room at once :)

2. Decide more carefully on what to buy. I am on a rather tight budget, so this one is very important. I need to make better choices over what kinds of foods fo buy, and not be tempted by foods that I can really do without, like empty junk food. I also need to keep track of my purchases better.

These are the two biggest ones for me this week.

My goal: to decide the best ways to ensure I attend all of my classes.

I've been working on this goal this week, and I've been doing well so far.

Firstly, I thought about what may make my attendance difficult to keep up, and why it is important for me to attend for this first week of my final semester. Then I thought of possible options for how to combat this and decided on ones that I thought would be the best ones in helping me. Both before and after my classes.

I also went to see both my disability mentor and tutor about how I've decided to approach things, and to make a decision on possible things I can do - for if I ever need any extra help. My tutor helped me to decide the next good courses of action that we can both put into place and the best ways to move forward from there.

So far, so good! Three out of four classes down. One class left to go, and I'm very confident that I'll make it (physical health permitting!).

Today, I went to my most dreaded class. I was anxious the entire time - for every second of those hours, yet enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. I think seeing lecturers being very passionate about what they do is always very encouraging. So whilst I would not say I feel comfortable with the class still, and it does raise my anxiety considerably, it is made easier by viewing a passionate presence who wishes to empower their pupils.

I feel not 100% but a lot better than I did last year, and apparently it shows too.

@Disabledfemme @mimameid How are your goals going so far? I hope all is well!

My goal: to decide the best ways to ensure I attend all of my classes.

Conclusion.

Complete - and before the end of the week! & I attended all of my classes for this first week, so that's a good step.

Thank you very much @Celaeno ! Hope your goals are doing well too.

I actually got a netbook, as my laptop is acting faulty! So I was able to go home and enjoy getting to use that for the first time today. But I shall extend my treat by relaxing today and tomorrow as much as possible smiley So exhausted, hoping to catch up on some things!

@QuickJazz, more or less they do ^^; I'm still on my road trip, so you could say I'm in ongoing exploration mode.

Sounds like a good plan. If only weekends could be a little bit longer, to squeeze in more things, especially connected to relax and one's own pleasure...

I was wondering why lately you wasn't as active as "normally", and now I know lack of your reassuring presence I have to blame on the technology ^^; But it is great to have you back!
