Despair is inevitable

305Alex June 20th, 2022

I've been living with my grandmother for the past 9 months now and I am dreading every moment. She is the most difficult person I have ever had to deal with (I'm not even exaggerating) and I can't do anything about it because I just don't make enough to find a place for myself. I feel like I'm drowning further and further downwards, losing my livelihood in the process. I just wish I could get as far away as possible from my situation and never come back but I just feel so trapped and miserable it just feels hopeless :'(

@305Alex I can relate. I had to move back in with my parents when my ex husband left me and covid began. I feel too depressed to rebuild a whole life. Do you work? Are you able to save at all?

I say this as someone with a literal $4 in their savings account :)

I'm sorry you feel that way I hope you can find the happiness you yearn for. I do have a job but I only earn $1,400 a month and that's not a suitable income to live off of where I live. I've been saving what I can from living my grandmother for the future but I feel a need to leave now and I'm financially unable to do so.

I'm in the exact same situation omg. Well almost exact. I'm living in my grandmother's house but she's ill so my uncle more takes care of the house. But the rest is the same. I get a little less than you in income though. For me to get out I'm going to college and I might move in with a friend of mine. The commute might be long but...I'm at that point. If you're not into all that though, maybe you could find a roommate? Like each pays half of rent and you split utilities? For me the average apartment rent is 1300 so in half that's 650, plus maybe 300 in utilities which is 950. So you'll have little over 400 left for food and stuff.

@Rexy0705

Finding a roommate is a good idea! Just be careful who you choose💜
