True, I get you. It happens in my family too. My grandparents does it to my dad and his siblings and I am seeing it being done from my own father to us. I hope it is our generation that breaks the cycle.


Breaking the cycle isn’t easy. I see that you realize that. Maybe you can be the change.

Maybe it is not because they do not see it ...... maybe they rationalize it

Example a parent has an alcohol problem ... when the child grows up and they KNOW the damage it can cause but .....They can handle it .... they know when it is a problem .... they do not think it can be genetic etc...

maybe your speaking of other things that could be worse then addictions ..........but i have found many a person whom IMO saw the bad things ... ...........seem to minimize or rationalize when they find themselves walking down a similar path.
