Sad about the closing of General Support chat room

I have been a member at 7cups for a long while and visited almost daily in these years, spending the vast majority of my time here in the General Support room of the group chat (because I have a history of various mental health issues). Now that the room has been closed (for not being busy enough?) I no longer feel like I fit in the other 24/7 rooms. The General support room was greatly comforting and supportive, rarely seemed to have conflicts and was a quiet place for deep and broad discussions for people struggling with aspects of mental health without being rushed on to a new topic because it was so busy like some other rooms.

Don't get me wrong, people in other 24/7 rooms are still welcoming, but I just don't feel like they are right right places to share what is going on for me, or where I can provide my best peer-support to others.

I'm sad to see this change after so long, I don't see the regular folks from GS in other rooms often and I will probably not be visiting the chat site as frequently now as a member, but will check back for transient specialist rooms that open up.

I guess it is the end of an era, and I'm glad that at least now I am in a better place than when I first came here, so I am thankful to 7cups for the role the community played in that.
