'If you don't love yourself, how can anyone else love you?'

Buzzyjoe February 21st

People need to stop saying this, it's not true and it only makes the person feel worse.

Would you refuse to show love to someone because they didn't love themselves?

I just want you to know that you're worthy self loving nobody's journeys, easy to find that and I empathize with you and if you need someone to talk to I'm always available

@Buzzyjoe

If you don't love yourself, it's difficult for you to accept that someone else loves you. This is how the saying should go.

@NotAllHere713 Maybe people should say that instead

I completely agree. You don't have to love yourself for other people to love you! It can be hard to accept love if you don't love yourself, but other people are going to love you anyway. Perhaps we should focus on letting people know that they are worth loving instead of telling them that they have to love themselves before others can love them.

@Buzzyjoe wow, that's a lot to take in and I'm proud of you for sharing that I I would do my best to show the person that there were the entry them with kindness and be gentle

@Buzzyjoe If you lack self-love, you'll expect others to fill that void. Putting undue pressure on them is not fair to them and it's not fair to you. Plus you'll be able to better understand your worth, boundaries and your love language when you love yourself. It'll lead to a healthier relationship between you and the ones who love you. That's what the saying means. Try a little to understand the intention behind these sayings.

@Justme7929 No, I don't expect anyone to fill any void.
