Does Life has any meaning ?
@NotFound20
For me, I take the Nihilistic approach to life. Life has no inherit meaning but that doesn't mean that we can't apply meaning to it. We give life its own meaning. So that mean whatever you believe is valuable you do it. I think instead of questions everything and why we exist, we just go with eh flow and live life.
Even if we go with the flow. Life still feels empty. Like whatever we are doing it doesn’t make any sense to me.
@miakitten9123 This is what I would answer as well. Does life have to be associated with meaning? What if life's purpose is that there is no meaning but the meaning we should find within everything we interact with?
@NotFound20 Life has meaning if you search for a meaning. Otherwise, i believe it doesnt have anything attached to it
Yes thats the hard part searching for that meaning and not knowing what you are looking for exactly
@NotFound20 i still have problems with it too. sometimes i get too overwhelmed just thinking about it. i totally understand you!
@NotFound20
We are the only ones who can give a meaning to our lives
For me life is like the myth of sysiphus. We are forced to push a rock uphill everyday only for it to fall down but we choose our attitude toward this task, we find our own meaning.
@NotFound20 hi.. do you think there is a purpose behind why you are here?
I am not sure but there should be. Otherwise our lives are just happy coincidence of nature . Doesnt feel right .
@NotFound20 ofcourse there is a purpose behind your creation. We just did not came to be coincidentally. There is a higher purpose for why we were created. Like think about it.. if it was all for money.. why do the celebrities and the Rich live a depressed life and end up suiciding. If you become the most successful,the most rich, the most beautiful woman on earth.. then what? Is that what life is about? Ofcourse not! Do you understand what I am trying to say?
@NotFound20 Do you think that life has to have a meaning? In my opinion being alive is just being alive, there is no reason behind it. I ask myself this often too. I think everyone wants to have a purpose in life, to feel that he belongs somewhere, to free himself from himself. It never is simple journey, simple answer for a simple question. I personally haven't found it. I feel empty inside often too, sad and lonely. But you know what, why would you need to carry the weight of the entire world. Try and struggle as others say. I think it is important to learn how to be a little irresponsible, to be a little selfish. I think the best way to learn about life is through experience. Of course those are just words and the reality is often much tougher and different, from what anyone says. Also I don't think it is wrong if you won't find any meaning in life, any purpose. Many people won't, and many of them are still able to lead fulfilling lives. Just flow with it and try to find a few seconds of happiness each day. The thing I currently want the most is to be able to forgive myself. I am not able to, but if it ever happens, that will probably be the moment, when I find a solution to any of those impossible questions. It will probably be something simple, as it often is.
@La5ky I believe there is a purpose of life.. we can discuss it on chat..feel free to text me privately
@neverendingParadise4061 I am quite interested in your opinion. Could you send me a message? I don't understand how to send a pm on this site. :D
@La5ky I just realized.. I don't know either.. so I guess we can just chat here so others can benefit as well
@La5ky As an adult, you cannot message a teen listener, unfortunately.
Charlie
@RarelyCharlie Thanks for the information.
@La5ky so let me take a step back.. I believe that we didn't come coincidentally.. god created us for a purpose. Like think about it, how can this perfection in the earth and solar system come from nowhere.. like you breathe in oxygen.. and give out C02 but plants do the opposite. Look at yourself, a perfect designed human being.. you don't have to think about your heart beating.. it just beats.. when u get a wound.. ur body starts repairing itself on its own.. do you think all of this came from random?
@neverendingParadise4061 That is an interesting point of view. Everything was created, so it can work together without any effort added. The nature is facinating. It is difficult to say if the creation of human being was intentional or not. I myself believe in the evolution, not in god, however the truth still isn't confirmed, so any theory can be true. And that doesn't respond to the question, how we appeared here? Who created us? Who sent us here? Did dna in a comet flew down to earth? Is there something similar to earth somewhere in the galaxy. And how old is the civilization we live in? So do you think someone or something created us and the whole system around it, for a reason? It is true, that it sounds like too much of a coincidence for it to be random. I mean finding out the truth behind all of this is why we have science, that is what is able to move us forward so much, the curiosity, the greed, the desire for knowledge.
@La5ky excellent.. so I am personally a Muslim. So I am going to tell you what we believe.. if you like it..we can discuss more.. if not, you can leave it, no problem. So first I would want to tell you that evolution can never be tested in a controlled environment in a lab that's why it's called a theory. So we can't waste our life based on a theory. Think about it.. would it make sense if I told you my iPhone 5 just evolved over billion of years into an iPhone 9.. well no right? Or if I said over billions of years.. grains of sand just came together and formed my iPhone 5.. you would think I am a crackhead.. cause such perfection can't come out of random. We have a much more complex design than an iPhone. A single bacteria, can make a giant man bedridden. You know a man is just alive because of its soul.. because when u see someone dead.. they still have the same heart.. the same eyes..the same form but their soul is just gone...they were alive a second ago..and now they are not..
@La5ky Now I will tell you what we believe, again if you like it.. you can ask me more questions.. if not, it's totally up to you. See we believe that there is only creator, the most powerful, the ever living who is not in need of a wife, a son, a roommate etc. these are human relationships. Our creator is much higher than that. He created us, and then he told us how to operate in this life by sending us messengers from Abraham to Moses to Jesus to Muhammad ( peace and blessings of Allah be upon them) as a practical example for us to follow.(cause think about it, if he sent angels.. they won't be a practical example for us right.. cause they r a different creation altogether). And the purpose for which he created us was to worship him as is mentioned in the Quran. And then when we die, we would be held accountable for our actions. Like think about it, a man rapes, kills and murders.. and gets away with the system because of money or political influence. Do you think that's it? He is gonna be left alone? And that poor woman, victim is never going to be given justice? That's why nobody can get away with a sin..
@La5ky now you might think that well.. it can and can't be true.. well that can't be cause there are historic documentation of the prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) splitting the moon into 2. Because the people of Makkah didn't believe him and asked him to split the moon. And by allah's will he split the moon. And there is a king in india who saw the moon split and later when he met the Muslim traders who told him about it, he became a Muslim and built a mosque.. which is still there in kerela.. so not only people of mekkah.. outside mekkah.. people saw the moon split. Even his enemies admitted to the fact that he split the moon.. another miracle that we have is that the Quran is well preserved for more than 1400 years. We have manuscripts of the Quran which are carbon dated to the life of the prophet called the Birmingham quran.. u can look at up. Arabs and non Arabs memorize it in millions.. even dr. Bert Ehrmen who is a New Testament scholar, ex-Christian criticized the Bible for having been written by anonymous authors. While he himself said that the Quran has been preserved. This is Islam.. if you have any more questions.. I am willing to answer.. but I think Islam gives u the answer of who created you? Why u r here.. what about all the people who wronged u.. are they just gonna be left alone.. etc
@neverendingParadise4061 Hmm, and what is meant by the worshipping? Do you mean like the devotion to what is written in the Quran? And sinners who are not punished in their whole life. They will get punished after death? I can understand why a higher being wouldn't care about relationships at all. I am curious if this being has a reason for what he is doing, if he just wants to protect his creation and wants us to learn to live with each other without any ill manners. Evolution cannot be tested in a lab. Yeah that makes sense. No one is better than nature in this aspect. You need variety, you need changing weather, landscape, animals around you and just yourself and your creativity. Even if we build in some time an AI, who is able to go through an evolution for many years. It would need to live among us, to get to know the wolrd not just a lab and people in white coats.
@La5ky great question. So worship means to follow what the Quran says and the practical example which we call the "sunnah" of the prophet. (Now don't think about what the media tells u.. I will tell u of a site where u can order your FREE Quran if u r in the US..and read it for urself), to the best of our ability cause ofcourse we r going to make mistakes but our creator is so merciful that if we ask him for forgiveness, he forgives us. We have a direct connection with our lord.. I don't need to go to a Christian pastor who is a human like me to confess to my sin. I can ask my creator directly.. you pray to him directly.. etc. Now, he created us so that we do his worship because of which he enters us into his paradise which has no death.. no sadness, everlasting joy.. but as for those who robbed, stole, took advantage of people or oppressed them.. those allah will punish them with a punishment they can't imagine.
@neverendingParadise4061 Islam is definitely interesting religion. Thank you for sharing the knowledge. I will look up more about it. It is interesting.
@La5ky sure! And if you have any more questions.. you can always reply here.. you can search one message foundation on YouTube and learn more about it.. we have videos about almost everything.. if u might have questions about Islam's view on terrorism.. there are videos on that as well.. I hope Allah guides you.. we won't get anything by you accepting Islam..but I am sure you will wake up everyday with a purpose..cause I was in the same shoes as you 3 years back. And I was an atheist as well.. then I looked into other religion even Hinduism.. but eventually I came to Islam
@neverendingParadise4061 Paradise which has no death.. no sadness, everlasting joy.. So islam doesn't believe in ressurection?
@La5ky right so we do believe in resurrection.. after we die we would be raised up again on the day of which only allah has knowledge of.. then he would hold us to account for our deeds.. and would ask us about our youth and how we spent it.. our money.. how we got that money (from legal or illegal means) of how we spent it etc. and our deeds would be weighed.. and so if we did good in this life.. we would enter paradise.. if not.. we enter the hellfire ( may allah protect me and you from it)
I think about my pets when I wonder the same thing. They bring me joy. I bring joy to someone else, even though I don't understand why. You bring meaning to others around you.
What about leafs which grants food to insects, shadows for creatures and refresh our air.
That's a great meaning for just a leaf, but what if I told you that you are the one who planted the whole tree, Is that still not giving your life a meaning ? 🤔
