I use ibuprofen, but it can only do so much.  I am on birth control pills to help with the bad symptoms, but they only do so much.  Any suggestions?

@purpleTree4652

I use Tylenol. Warm packs on your uterus area maybe? <3

@purpleTree4652 I go "strict vegetarian" 5days or a week before the-big-red ...when my body has less meats "cycling around" I take less ibuprofen

...only noticed I NEED to cut down after the meds destroyed liver (gain weight) to know taking meds 12 times each year (even just tiny doses) has creepingly destroyed ..going "meatless" the week before means no pain. Sometimes cutting down to "no milk(dairy), no meat" helps too...I know painkillers are marketed to be "safe" but no one talks about how it destroys liver (even in small dosage) so I hope u figure a way out! Being women is powerful even if we are "pushed down", dont be silenced, Rock on!

I never knew cutting out meat might help... Thank you! <3

But wouldn't it make it so you have less iron in your body? I take iron supplements when I'm on my period to try to help the intensity.

1 reply

@jesusredeemedme2425

yeah, im big on woofing down kelp, seaweed, red meat (beef) after "the-big-red" that is...like..replenishing

but prior, the week before (or days) I kinda "trick" the body ("see, no meat...nothing here...no pain please") it works

but of course (it may sound impossible) but a body may differ from another..so possibly works differently

@serenekite52

My boyfriend doesn't have personal experience in that area, but he made me make him a list of things I need/like on my period, like special comfort foods, pads, etc., so he knows how to take care of me <3 He's the sweetest!! <3

Somewhat better now, D... It's the escapism.

So much has been written about social media & its bad effects. Most of it is true...but every so often, binging on YT can do wondrous things.

What is YT?

@purpleTree4652  YT = acronym for YouRube. (7Cups will not allow the proper name of the media platform)

It’s a preventative protective measure to make sure users remain anonymous; for instance, if there was a troll on cups wanting to expose a user’s socials, the measure would prevent the troll from being able to say “Hey everybody go check out this YT channel! Here’s their name. Now dislike all their videos!”

I feel you…I’m expecting my period in a couple of days and PMS has been kicking me around like a soccer ball.

I often take fennel and fenugreek tea during my time of month, and it helps with the cramps somewhat. I like having them alongside cinnamon, ginger and honey cookies. 🍪🍵🫖

My period itself kicks me around like a soccer ball… lol! Dudes don’t know the struggle XD

They sure don’t; my roomies are guys (my bf and my male bff respectively), and they always get worried when I start PMSing. Honestly I have gotten into the habit of texting them “Yo I’m still alive; just trying to sleep off the pain” so that way they aren’t alarmed when they come home to see me passed out on the couch in a pool of my own blood 😂

Um… Im afraid to ask why you’d be in a pool of your own blood XD

I’ve missed you, too, tree! Apologies for dropping off the website for a while. I’m so glad I found you in the forums again. It’s comforting to see your username pop up. ♥️

I’ve been all right, thanks for asking! Just been going through a lot of things for my health. I’ve been having that trial-and-error with all sorts of medications, and I had a long-needed surgery back in April that I’m still recovering from before I jump into my next surgery in October (if all goes according to plan with my healing process).

How have you been? Sending love ♥️🍁🍂

@TheAutumnWitch

It's ok if you dropped off 7cups for a while.  You are entitled to make your own  decisions.

I'm so sorry to hear about the surgeries and meds.  How is that going?  Are you finding meds that help?  Does it seem like the first surgery helped?

I am doing better.  I cut off all my family.  I couldn't take their mental abuse anymore.  I feel like I can think clearly now, and it is improving and improving.  :)

Unfortunately I still have a tangled life.  I was just offered a job, which is great.  But I am waiting to see if the place I live will let me out of my lease without a huge penalty.  I am supposed to start my job in one month, and I need to move before then.  Plus I am in school going for a masters degree and I have finals in two weeks.  So I have a lot of stress right now.

How is your boyfriend?

@purpleTree4652

I appreciate your understanding :) I’m not sure if I’ll be appearing as regularly as I used to, but it’s nice to check in and say hello to everybody ♥️

The first surgery seems to have helped quite a bit! I’ve had several check-ins with the surgeon who performed it and he’s very pleased with the results. It’s nice to be in less pain than before. Meds have been tougher to figure out. Both my primary care doctor and my psychiatrist noticed I am sensitive to medications, so I’m easily affected by whatever they give me. Recently I had to go to urgent care because one of my medications was causing side effects on my heart, and because of that I was taken off of it while the search for a suitable replacement continues.

It’s immensely hard to sever ties with toxic family especially when they’ve been there for all of your life. I’m really happy for you that you’ve cut ties with them and are feeling better because of that. People who don’t respect your boundaries are the ones who need those boundaries the most. Remember, the saying “Blood is thicker than water” is incorrect. It’s actually a subversion of the original statement “The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.” Genetic relations mean nothing in comparison to those who have been by your side through your battles.

I’m sorry to hear things are still hectic and jumbled in your life. Fingers crossed for your job, your living situation and school! How dearly I wish that it was easy both financially and practically to have a source of income, a place to stay and a place to learn things. I’m cheering you on as always! Please remember to take care of yourself. You owe it to yourself ♥️

Hugs,

Autumn ♥️🍁🍂

P.S. Almost forgot 😅

My boyfriend is doing well, thank you! He and my best friend have been taking extra care of me since surgery. I worry that I’m getting a little spoiled having the two of them do all the housework and chores now since I have to stay off of my feet. He’s often tired coming home from work (not helped by how harsh summer is here; we live in the desert and his work uniform is black!), but he always makes time for me. :) Just yesterday we went to the library and he carried my books for me. He knows that I’m going through books so quickly since I haven’t much to do other than rest.

How has Chloe the cat been? ♥️

@TheAutumnWitch

I'm so happy to hear your boyfriend is well and is taking care of you with your friend.  You deserve to rest.

Thank you for telling me about the blood is thicker than water saying.  I'm going to put that correction in my desktop slide show.  I have supportive quotes in my slide show.

I wish I was your physical sister.  I also wish I could help to take care of you.

Chloe is doing well.  Thanks for asking about her.  She is 14 this summer and doesn't look like it.  She is still so playful and cute and smart.

I don't know if they'll let this get through, but I'm tigerpie @ att.net.  You have to take the spaces out.  I did that so the bots wouldn't notice the email.  No pressure.  If you don't want to write,  I still respect and love you as a sister.

I'm in tears.  I'll put up a pic of Chloe.  All my love, tree

They’re so good to me; I’m truly fortunate that I met them and they helped me escape my abusers. It’s tough for me to just sit around resting, feeling like I’m not being helpful or productive, but they gently remind me that I was very badly hurt and that this is my time to heal; I can worry about chores and a job after I’ve completely recovered.

Ever since I learned about the true saying (also provided to me by my bf and my bestie), I’ve kept it in mind. It keeps me strong. A supportive quotes slide show sounds like a good idea, and I’m glad you have that.

That’s a very kind sentiment ♥️ Being here for me on 7cups is more than enough. It’s reassuring to have a friendly face. I think you’re one of few users who have remained around since I first came to the website. Spotting you in the forums is like spotting a safe zone; a sanctuary of comfort and light.

Chloe has aged so gracefully! I’m glad to hear that she’s still so playful. Being cute and smart comes with the territory.

Thank you for letting me know ♥️ To be honest, I’m not sure if I will email (I’m not the best at keeping up with emails), but I will definitely keep yours in mind. You’re also welcome to tag me in the forums here, as well as create exclusive threads for the two of us if you wish. I’ve been thinking about making some of my own forum threads here and there, but I’m still on the fence about it. I appreciate the love and respect and reciprocate it fully ♥️

Thank you for the lovely picture of Chloe. Please give her a hug (or whatever form of affection she prefers) for me and a hug (or whatever form of affection you prefer) for yourself.

Love always,

Autumn ♥️🍂🍁

Hi, Autumn,

I'm so grateful to those who helped you escape.  They truly are angels.  I don't want to create a thread for us since you said you won't be on as much.  It would make me feel bad if I didn't hear from you much.  I think I'll try to catch you in the forums.  We'll see how it goes.  I am going to let you go.  This makes me very sad.  So I am going to sign off.  Take care, my dear friend.

Hi Tree,

I don’t want you to let me go; I’m deeply sorry for this misunderstanding and causing you distress. I have trouble replying to things in a timely manner because I tend to overthink myself and get very anxious, but that doesn’t mean I want to stop talking with you! I understand it can get lonely when a friend isn’t around/doesn’t reply for a while, so I’ll try to get better at that. I love being friends with you and being in touch. I appreciate you respecting my space and don’t want you to feel like I’m ignoring you. Please, feel free to reach out to me whenever; I truly do love hearing from you.

Your friend,

Autumn ♥️🍂🍁
