Riddles!
This topic is about short riddles, because not everyone likes to do the larger logical puzzles. If you do like those, then click here.
If you've guessed the riddle, you can immediately post another one yourself. Let's keep it going.
I will start with this riddle:
What is easy to get into, but hard to get out of?
Could be because he had been considering taking a hostage but changed his mind
@lazyKatz
No, he knew exactly what he was doing, and he had quite a good reason for doing so.
@DarkWolf I think it's pretty sure to say we're all stumped. Got any hints to share?
@ladylazarus1971
It's a bit difficult to think of a good hint, but I can try. And otherwise I'll just give the answer soon.
Try at a hint: he let's someone random on the plane get the parachutes, so not someone he knows. What could this person getting the parachutes do when only getting one parachute, that he wouldn't do when getting this amount of parachutes he's getting now?
Maybe he was worried about depressurizing the aircraft chamber , but that seems too technical of an answer and I'm assuming it's not the answer or maybe he was a smartypants like @DarkWolf and was trying to pick the best parachute...but this too seems like a stretch
@blackSnowflake25
Nope, that's not it either, I shall give the answer.
Imagine he'd only ask for one parachute. The person getting the parachute, could become a vigilante, and sabotage the parachute.
Because he asks for parachutes for all of the people onboard, it's much less likely that the person getting the parachutes would sabotage any of them. Because from the amount of parachutes, he could infer the innocent people on the plane might have to use the parachutes too. They didn't know beforehand what he was planning with the parachutes, he could just as well have let everyone jump out of the plane first, and go last himself.
So it was basically to be more sure he'd get a working parachute
@DarkWolf
I'd have never gotten this right. Jeez, who comes up with such riddles?! But, anyway, it made me wrack my brain hard, thanks for this
@DarkWolf You've bested us again with your amazing riddle powers! I've had fun trying to figure this one out. But it was never gonna happen on my own!
@DarkWolf @DarkWolf First of all wow these riddles are difficult but English is not my first language. I was thinking of that man who did some thing like that I think his name was DB Copper he did not hurt any one but asked for money. They tried to give him parachute that was not real but they forgot or got mixed up. He asked for 4 though.
There are 2 men walking in the desert, but neither knows each other. One of them is dying of thirst and the other has a full jug of water. The man with the jug offers the man a drink, but only if he follows three simple rules.
Rule 1 : He cannot have the jug, because it is his only one.
Rule 2 : He cannot remove the cork from the spout and drink this way.
Rule 3: He cannot poke a hole into the cork or the jug.
So, the thirsty man accepted his rules and then, he finished his drink and left. How did he do it?
@DarkWolf there are two people are does he include both of htem?
@AmalieAnne
That wasn't quite the answer I had in mind.
@DarkWolf I was kind of getting there just not completely
What is the only thing an elephant can make? No other animal can?
@DarkWolf This is wrong but I am going to say it any way - a baby elephant
@AmalieAnne
It's actually the right answer
No twins could ever with us compare,
So like in shape and size;
Our bodies white like ermine fair,
As black as jet our eyes:
But tho' so like in every feature,
We rival brothers be;
Yet so obdurate is our nature,
We often disagree.
Who are we?
@DarkWolf I think I know but it is kind of cheating because I recognise a word from latin emine, so I started there and then thought of how two could be the same but different.
@AmalieAnne obdurate is also latin for a decision made by force
@AmalieAnne
So.. who/what do you think they are?
@DarkWolf I think but I am not sure that they are two or more die ?!?
@AmalieAnne is that dice?
@AmalieAnne
Dice is the right answer!!
@DarkWolf Yay I did kind of cheat though i was not thinking in latin and french and images
@AmalieAnne sorry was thinking in remove the not
Well this is all going over my head. I'm enjoying the conversation though, maybe I'll learn something from it.
