Riddles!
This topic is about short riddles, because not everyone likes to do the larger logical puzzles. If you do like those, then click here.
If you've guessed the riddle, you can immediately post another one yourself. Let's keep it going.
I will start with this riddle:
What is easy to get into, but hard to get out of?
Look what I found! There might be some 'vintage' riddles coming your way soon. Even though the quality might differ greatly, I doubt you've seen all of these before
@DarkWolf awesome fiiind!!! I'm up for itππ (i miss my personal library of old books and the thrill of searching for them...πππ)
@DarkWolf with that there can be bo online cheating anymoreπππ
Here's the first one taken from the book
My first is a common New York cry,
My next is an insect; now try
To guess my whole; a clew I'll give, though slight,
It oft emits my first, a glorious sight.
@DarkWolf fire fly YEEEEEEESπππππ π
@Butterflee
That's right!
@DarkWolf see, they were kind enough to give us clues back then ππ
What word is there of five letters that, by taking away two, leaves one?
@DarkWolf noone?
@Butterflee
I am going to give you the point for this riddle. Both your answers were really clever and fit the riddle. Maybe even better than the original answer.
The original intended answer is: 'stone'.
@DarkWolf stone like the unit of measurement you think? I'm terrible at these but I love them!
@Lifer
It doesn't matter which definition of 'stone' was used, because the riddle doesn't adress that at all.. so 'noone' is just as valid as 'stone' or any other similar word.
That's ok there will be easier riddles too.. and it can still be fun to think about the harder riddles too. To stretch our brains a little
@DarkWolf hehe, guessing around is the fun of it, sniffing for the answer
Without my first, my second never could have existed and my whole is as old as creation. What/who am I?
@DarkWolf a year?
@Lifer Makes no sense to me... I'll just answer from the couch. π
@DarkWolf Adam and Eve couple? πππDarkness and light? Time?
@Butterflee
Nope, the right answer isn't in there. And this riddle actually has one answer that quite clearly fits the best.
Little hint: the answer is 1 word.
@DarkWolf thank you, i was just fishing with stones thereπππ
@DarkWolf
Am guesing the answer. yet initially telling i took help from my aunt since am now enjoying vacations and i wasnt able to get the answer, yet she thought is the answer "Sunday" ?
Without Sun (1st part) no day will be there (2nd part) .and since creation, all the days are there including sunday as well.
@niceDaisy36
'Sunday' is the correct answer!
I honestly thought I'd have to give hints, but your aunt has got it!
@DarkWolf
Hahaha,thanks to my aunt then . Now she is laughing as she got the right answer, while i and brother, couldnt hahah
Finally found the riddle page again. I see that no one has answered the riddle yet.
A word of three syllables, seek till you find,
That has in it the twenty-six letters combined.
What is it?
My first is a human being, my second is to walk, my whole is an indian ruit. What am I?
I'm rough, I'm smooth, I'm wet, I'm dry,
My station low, my title high,
My king, my lawful master is,
I'm used by all though only his.
@DarkWolf it was a jokeπ. Might it be the highway? Fits all..
@Butterflee
Yes, it is!
@DarkWolf i remembered the book was english so the king was the owner of the highways....
What roof doesn't keep out the wet?
@DarkWolf wait i got it: the mouth roof! Trickyπ
@Butterflee
You actually got it just before I posted the hint, nice!
@DarkWolf
Ignore my last post, a very good riddle
@DarkWolf it was the wet that couldn't keep out not the rainπ
@Butterflee
Well done, you can sleep tonight.
