Do We Need to Be an Active Listener to Be an Active Speaker? What Do You Think?

Hello everyone, today's discussion topic is: "Should an active speaker be an active listener?"

Case 1: Gwen is a great speaker, but she is not an active listener. She is an avid reader, but not a social person.

Case 2: Charlotte is a good speaker, listener, and reader.

Case 3: John is a good listener but not a good speaker.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this.

@IsabelMendoza

What is an active speaker? How is it different?

@Gettingbettertoday

I am sorry if it caused any confusion. I mean talkative or someone who is more interested in talking as an active speaker and tends to have strong communication skills.

@IsabelMendoza

Then No. I have met plenty of people who love to talk that don't listen well.

Got it, there’s a notion that good speakers are good listeners.

@IsabelMendoza

To me a good speaker is someone that can make a clear well supported point. There are plenty of people that speak a lot but do not make a clear point.

It seems to me you are thinking about how some employ social intelligence to gain awareness of others feelings about what they speak of. A useful skill both for heroes and villains.
