@Traveller8

Hello! I haven't had much contact with anyone since quarantine, so sorry if I'm awkward! I'm Ava, I'm not currently in recovery (my history with treatment centers is wack man), but I am trying to connect more with others. I'm anorexic, but idk anymore I'm in a very weird place. And there we have it! Five sentences of me being incredibly awkward and ruining my chances of having people talk to me :).

Hello I'm James and I just joined this app :) I've had a pretty bad eating disorder for around 3 years now with anorexic and binge tendencies. Currently not in therapy (thanks to Coronavirus) but working with friends to start recovery. I'm really in the first stages and would love to meet others for support :))

Hi Amber here.

I have recently been diagnosed with bolemia and my parents have kicked me out of the house for it, saying that they will not have a broken child living under their roof. I am currently living with my aunt. Is this a normal reaction?!

Hello everyone. I have an eating disorder for about 15 years. I have bulimia with tendency to anorexia. I had a therapy in the past but never fully recovered. Because of some health problems i lost many pounds the last months and it was triggering my eating disorder. I am eating less and don't have an appetite, but I don't want to gain weight and to be honest, loose some more. I hope I can find support here and get out this unhealthy spirale.

Kenni1134 April 10th, 2020

Hello, I'm Kenni!

I've had an ED for almost 3 years. It started with just wanting to eat healthier and then I decided one day to not eat. I didn't think it was a big deal to not eat breakfast but then it turned into a meal a day and even then, I still feel awful afterwards. I often times wonder why I can't just be normal. Even if I eat normal and do my best not to think about it, I know I'm not normal. Some days I take a lot of pride in it, but most of the days I just want to be normal. I don't know why the way I am. Why do things like these happen to my perfectly normal and happy life? Does anyone else not even know why they have an ED?

HI Kenni,

Wondering what's happening to you is very valid but be sure there's nothing "wrong" with you. Here you will find people that have been through the same path and surely will try to help. Stay active posting, contact any listener available -you can browse and select- or ask any of us listeners part of the ED team. We are here to support you.

Hi,

I'm so confused because this isn't who I am. But the longer I have anorexia the more it becomes part of me. I just want to be perfect so badly but I can't be perfect at anorexia and perfect at being healthy at the same time. I can't tell anyone what I really feel in person because my family, doctors, etc. Can't understand how I feel and why I can't just be logical. I feel frustrated that they tell me I'm smarter than this, like it's a matter of intellectual ability. So I've been trying to find online support from other people who suffer from the same illness.

@2ndOf7,

I completley understand!! You are not alone!! Haveing an ED makes it really hard to tell people things. You think they might not understand, and that's okay! I've felt that many times. We're happy to have you in our community! I encourage you to talk to a listener. This website/app is full of amazing people just at a push of a button. <3

Traveller8 OP April 11th, 2020

@2ndOf7

Hello 2ndOf7,

Support is what you wil find here. Welcome. Kenni is right, you are not alone. Hope the exchange of experiences with members and listeners can help you. In this community we all try hard to understand and suppor each other.

Alyssa1984 April 21st, 2020

Hi @2ndOf7,

I was wondering if you'd like to chat? I'm new to this site and just coming to terms with my anorexia. I haven't asked for help or told anyone just yet. Felt that I needed some company with someone that was also going through it. Take care and I hope you're keeping well at this difficult time. Alyssa
