Thanks !

basically I’m just wondering if I have a form of anorexia. I feel very uncomfortable in my body but I don’t not eat because is that. I think my head just tells me not to eat even when I’m hungry and I don’t know why. I know I have OCD but I don’t know if that’s making me like this so yeah idrk

I wouldn't focus so much on the label of the diagnosis and instead focus on what you yourself are dealing with and how it is currently hindering your wellbeing. So, you are uncomfortable with your body. You aren't eating when you should be eating. I think body dysmorphia resources, even if you don't have anorexia, could still help you explore and heal your first problem- it's about making peace with your body and with yourself. As for the not eating (but not because you don't like your body)...have you gotten a doctor to do a health check on you yet? That might help rule out the possibility that you're physically ill.

But, also, just to let you know, I refused the anorexia label for a long time because I thought my presentation wasn't 'stereotypical'. It wasn't that I was 'afraid' of food and I was already ok with the way I looked, it was just that I needed something to have control over in my life- so I just got more obsessive and restrictive with my food until I got dangerously underweight (and then I found I was terrified to gain all the weight back). In order to go to recovery, I didn't call myself anorexic, I just looked at what I needed help with (good nutritional information, a program to gain back the weight safely, so much therapy) and went from there.

Hopefully that personal tangent was helpful lol. But, how are you doing physical health-wise? Do you think you need someone else/a program to guide you back to eating properly?
