A new treatment approach for excessive eating

Love220 July 30th

Hello everyone!

Eating disorders treatment (Binge eating, Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa) with Pleasures Distribution Theory was a process I worked on to lose weight caused by antipsychotics side effects. I share it with you because I found it very helpful.

What is the Pleasure Distribution theory?

It claims that the human has two pleasure parts: somatic (sensory) and psychological. The patient who has bulimia or binge eating relies on the taste pleasure more than the other pleasures. However, we will dive more into the psychological therapy models and the theory factors.

Pleasures Distribution Therapy Model

Here is how the theory’s flow goes:

If the cause of the eating disorder is psychological, we have to do:

-Awareness of the types of physical and psychological pleasures.

-Examining psychological causes and the lack of satisfaction of other needs that overwhelm him (stress).

-* Develop a work plan to distribute efforts to achieve other goals of physical and psychological pleasure (with balance).

If Binge eating/Bulimia Nervosa is substance-induced (medications inducing high appetite):

-Ensure that there are no organic or other problems.

-Ensure treatment for other psychological causes that require psychiatric medication.

-Treatment with acceptance and commitment to the following:

Realization:

-The brain periodically sends a message about the need for food (you must remind yourself that you have eaten what will keep you from the suffering of life and that you will not suffer from unconsciousness or suffer from a medical problem, and it is normal to feel of abdominal pain or some weakness).

-The feeling of fullness from food will not be felt in general, but strive to get used to an unforgettable number of food.

-Develop a plan to spread the satisfaction of pleasure centers, both physically and psychologically↓

The first step in it is for the patient to interact between his tension in the change and another pleasure alternative that leads to the same degree of pleasure. The patient needs the same period of time that he suffers from.

Centers of Physical Pleasure:

Sensory:

-Taste

-Touch

-hearing (music or so)

-vision (natural scenes for example)

-olfactory (perfumes you like)

Psychological reward centers:

They are tested from Maslow's Hierarchy of needs:

I hope this theory helps anyone to get a distraction from excessive eating as well as any other addiction. If you need further explanation, please comment on this post and I will reply.
