Post-Thanksgiving Reminders

Shanna November 27th, 2020

Thanksgiving (and all food-centered holidays) can be a very tricky time for those with an eating disorder or those who are in recovery.

Wanted to send along some quick reminders if you are struggling today:

heart You do not need to compensate through restricting, purging, or exercise for anything that you ate yesterday. Your body is wise and resilient and can handle a holiday meal (and any other meal)

heart If you binged yesterday, that is okay--you still need to eat all of your meals and snacks today

heart Today is a new day and another chance to get on track with recovery

heart If anyone commented on your body or your food choices and eating patterns yesterday I am so sorry and it says much more about them than it does about you

heart It is okay if you are struggling right now AND you can still leave space to acknowledge the progress you've made so far--set backs are normal and you are more than capable of beating your eating disorder in spite of them

Sending you all lots of love and support today and every day--keep fighting, you can do this!

@Shanna Thank you so much! This helped me a lot, even if I can't help starving myself afterwards, when I feel fat. But thank you dear heart
