Friend with possible anorexia

Lilyhux December 9th, 2021

Any advice what to do or say to a teen friend who eats almost no meals a day? She determinedly says no when I and her family asks her eat. This has been going on for a week now. We try asking her what's wrong, is eating too hard for her, or is she too stressed, but she always says "nothing" and gets irritated. I think she's stressed with school, overworking and spending free time with other work.

@Lilyhux You can't do much tbh. Other than encourage her to eat. If that even helps. But seriously, respect her 'no' and don't ever tell her 'eat for me'. That doesn't help. All you can do is... well, not a lot. You and your friend are kids, and it should be grown ups taking care of this.

But encouraging her to go to a doctor would be a good idea.

Thanks! It's just worrying everytime we "respect her no", like until when should that be before we step in?
