Winter is Coming (& so is the pain)

Vulpine October 23rd, 2015

Its starting to get cold in my neck of the woods which means being more adamant about keeping up with my diet & exercise regimen since the cold really takes a toll on my joints & any lapse in my diet or fitness means periods of time of potential debilitation. I used to love Winter but now that I am not only hypersensitive to cold but it causes me excruciating pain. Does anyone else miss being able to enjoy the snow & crisp winter air? Does anyone else get frustrated when friends ask why you dislike winter so much?

Yup yup yup

Winter for me means more pain and more stiffness and more medication which makes me more fuzzy - I'm a pretty useless person between October and April!!!!

Yeah, winters seem to be lasting much longer these past few years.

I can relate. I'm dreading having to play in the snow with the five year old I babysit...

Oi - I know how rough that is. I lived with an 8 year old, 9 year old & 2 year old last winter. It was so hard to tell them that I would rather stay inside when they would beg me to come out & play. Sometimes it was unavoidable because I was the only one home watching them.

Absolutely. Winter is pure torment on my right knee from the subzero temperatures and moist air.

I need to get a new knee brace before it gets much colder, I'm already starting to limp around and I hate living off painkillers!

winter is absolutely brutal on my back and nerves. sometimes i couldn't even leave my bed when it would get below zero the pain would be so bad.

i consider myself very, very, very lucky to be able to go south for the winter this year. i am so grateful for that.

i'll still get the increase in pain when it rains, but that diminishes faster then the pain during winter.

i'll be sending cheery thoughts to you all. the good news is that winter ends, eventually.
