New Pain
I have had a chronic pain condition for nearly 6 years now. This year I have started suffering from a similar pain. It's been happening since February and I have seen four separate doctors for it. Each of them shrugged it off. I am currently in agony and I am just terrified that this is going to be another issue I'll have for the rest of my life. I have another doctor's appointment next week with a specialist and I swear if I get another "I can't help you." I'm going to break down completely. It is devastating to be in pain all day every day and have nothing to be done about it.
@Beansidhe0 I know what it's like to go from doctor to doctor and getting very little help. Frustration isn't a strong enough word and it ends up being rather demotivating too.
I hope your appointment goes better than the previous ones, let us know how it goes, we're here to support either way.
Update: I got a wishy washy "It might be this." However, turns out the "this" is another incurable thing that's very difficult to treat and will stay with me for the rest of my life. I've got a two week course of treatment to see if I see a change and a follow up in a month. Boy this is exhausting.

It does sound exhausting. I am sorry you are going through this. It is not easy to live with chronic pain. I like to do a lot of reading and have made lifestyle changes based on the work of several well-known doctors. It has not completely gotten rid of my pain but it has helped. I have been diagnosed as having something wrong within a certain category of illnesses but I do not have a specific diagnosis. I worked with a physical therapist who taught me a lot that helped also. Someone here on 7cups suggested I use heat and I have no idea why I never thought of that and no doctor ever suggested it but it helps me a lot. Everyone is different, of course. @Beansidhe0 Sorry, that is hard. It does sound like this doctor at least wants to work with you. I know you're not getting the answer you want - I think that's pretty rare, it's almost never take this pill every day for a week and you will be cured which most of us would love. I hope that you can find ways to at least make it more manageable.
