Hi I am ComicCarol.
I have Chronic Pain from back issues and Cerabral Palsy. I have to be honest that today the pain is bad and I kind of feel alone. I usually color when I get bad but I can't even do that,. All my friends just don't get how bad it gets at times.
Hi @ComicCarol
Welcome to 7 cups. I love your user name by the way, although it doesn't sound like life is a bundle of laughs for you at the moment.
It must get very difficult at times coping with chronic pain, and yes, I can imagine it must feel lonely as it's hard for people to understand what you're having to cope with. My partner lives with chronic pain. Although I can't feel that pain, or fully appreciate how it must be to have to bear it, I do care.....very much. So your friends may not fully appreciate your difficulties, but have you tried to share with them how hard it feels for you? I know others caring doesn't take away your pain, but it may ease that loneliness.
Have you had medical support with this? Physio, pain relief, even posture may alleviate your pain slightly. It sounds like colouring may provide you with a distraction. Have you found any other distractions that work? It's good to see you've found the chronic illness section of the forums, and I hope you may find the support and compassion you need to feel less alone, and the strength to face challenging times.
@DeborahUK. I kind of have medical support. The good thing is that I have an appointment with my CP specialist tomorrow morning. And yes I have medication but lately that hasn't been working . ( especially todayl
And as far as talking to my friends . I do but I suspect that they are tired hearing about it as much as I am talkingabout it.
